Note 3 / S4 or Xperia Z1?

a sony would probably be refreshing. although the note is nice. the s4 is more of the same.

Go into the stores and try for yourself, they all powerful devices so it comes down to personal preference.

That being said, I have the note 3 and it rocks. You get used to the size pretty quickly, doubt I'll be going back to the smaller screens any time soon.

I'm a phablet fanboi and I loved my original Note. I can't wait for the new Lumia 1520 though... that thing is a beast.

Note 3..

Huawei also have a giant size phone, saw it a few months ago, made my Note II look a bit small. My mate said they hadn't launched it here yet though but it was coming soon. It was a great device to use.

If you want a tiny screen just get:

The Xperia Z1 has a large bezel so it's pretty big too.

Z1: 144 x 74 x 8.5 mm
Note 3: 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm

Weight
Z1: 170g
Note 3: 168g

In saying that, assuming you don't need ADH, i'd go for the Z1. Samsung is just more of the same. Personally, I own an S4 but ADH was the determining factor for me..

That takes the Sony out of the picture for me as well -if I had to choose.

Thanks guys!

Z1 it is then. I played around with the Note 3 - Great phone though.

The Sony in white looks awesome.

Looking at the Note 3 with the gear combo , anyone have any experience with this combo and the real benefits ?

Personally I work mainly on my laptop while answering the phone so answering via the watch still leaves me with two hands free to do the typing (but I guess I can put the phone on speaker the hey :p) so my question is the watch more of a gimmick or does it have good benefits ?

Z1 definitely. With it being waterproof and dustproof warranty not necessary.

Just remember, "waterproof" and "dustproof" does not mean "crackproof". If that screen (or any part of the phone for that matter) cracks or breaks, you'll have to pay for a replacement -unless you have the phone insured, of course. ;)

(I learnt this the hard way when the Moto Defy came out :o )

I've dropped my Z on tiles multiple times without issue.

I'm in the same boat, hoping to get the Z1. S4 and Z1 my options and the cheap plastic on the S4 not appealing. Both good fones but after playing with both, the Z1 definitely

I'm also looking for a new phone. Think I'm gonna give the Z1 a go. I have rolled with a samsung for a good 2 years now. I want to try something fresh. From what I have read the Z1 seems like a good alternative. Also I wanna stay with the droid.

damn that made me cringe D:

Yeah, throughout the whole test you're thinking, "That doesn't look too bad," until they try and switch it back on.

I'm by no means saying the Z1 is bad in any way shape or form. I'm just saying that in my experience, nine times out of ten I'm more likely to drop my phone than get it wet or dusty. That's why, for me, I'd go for the Note 3 with ADH. If the Z1 came with the same, I'd be hard pressed to choose. :)
