Okay i am having a strange problem...

i have a Notebook, it takes about 2 mins before it shows that the Vista is loading, then once vista loads and it almost makes ready to load explorer a blue screen is momentarily shown and then the pc restarts.

Now i thought ok lets quickly check the disk with linux.

Put in linux CD and keep getting a DRD Err (Disc Read Error)

So am i right in assuming there is something wrong with the disc??

Burn the linux iso at a low speed, 4x, and see if it helps.

No its one of the originals... its that strange error when you have errors on your HDD

the DRDY Err sorry it wasn't right in front of me now...

So yeah... its very strange...

Do you agree there is something wrong with the HDD?

OK, hang on, this is confusing:

Put in linux CD and keep getting a DRD Err (Disc Read Error).

Is linux reporting an error with the HDD or CD?? Or am just being dumb :)

Yeah I would say its buggered. Its a good idea to replace it sooner than later....
