I'm looking for a program for taking quick notes, and storing them... things like phone numbers, records of peoples names I spoke too, just general notes of things I need to remember...

Sort of like Office OneNote, but free, or the notes in Outlook, but easier to organize.

Anyone know of anything?

Thanks

*needs to be Windows as all my work applications run on Windowz.
*mustn't be a web program - some of the information is sensitive.

Something like CintaNotes? Or maybe EverNote, though about a year ago EverNote was going the web route which made me switch to CintaNotes. It may be better now though, so maybe try both.

Looks nice & clean. Might use that in future. I like the fact that its self-contained too, so one can through it in a dropbox folder to autosync it between computers (Didn't try that yet). Its a pity that its not FOSS & runs on *nix.:o

Evernote is a good one, works on most smartphones, has a desktop version and a web portal. Also got lots of plugins It could also be set to private, it is so by default i think.

EVERNOTE

pen + paper.
you'll always go back to good ol fashioned notes, because scribbling is faster than typing and easier to carry around ;)

Thanks - went with CintaNotes after running both for a few weeks... its simple and quick, and not online :) I like the feature of saving a weblink with a note for ebay tracking numbers.

Sticky notes on windows 7 is awesome :D.

I also use sunbird from mozilla which is awesome as well for reminders.

for Xp there is a sticky note as well.. but it doesn't look as awesome as window 7.. but it works just as well.. just google it.. and download it.. it's small..

I've been using TiddlyWiki for a year now. Single HTML file that I can access without installing any software, automatic backups etc.
