Love it

I bought the Solgar brand of nougat at Dischem and it is divine.

When made the right way, is it not suposed to be fairly healthy compared to chocolates or other sweets? Egg whites, glucose and honey would be the main ingredients, right ? Maybe I am just fooling myself !

The chocolate covered ones would be rather too sweet, I think.

Any of you ever tasted the Saly Williams brand ?

Love it. What is there to hate..oh yes, not getting any for awhile now...must get more !! :)

Don't know if you know Rose's Homemade... they make nougat for Woolies, sells for like R30 a bar. Found the factory and can buy it direct from them for R5 a bar, went there and spend like R90 on a ***** load of nougat.

I looooove all kinds of Nougat!!! :D

But now... Coconut... I cannot stand coconut!

I love it too as long as it doesn’t have those wanna be jelly tot things in it
Nutz are the best

Yes, it's one of those love or hate things.

I would pay a lot for a slab of good coconut ice. The key is in the freshness; it should melt in your mouth.

I have a friend who makes the most delicious nougat and toffee and sugar biscuits and sells them at really good prices.
She also personalises the sweets with custom messages, like "Thank You" or whatever you want written on it.
Make great wedding favours, thank you gifts for parties and corporate snacks.
Also, it's freaking delicious.

Blu - egg whites are good, but glucose and honey are still pretty bad for you! My favourite is with some sort of nut in it. The nuts are also really bad, fat-wise! But lots of protein.

I <3 nougat.

I can eat one of those long slabs in one go. I think they are about 15cm long :D

It's not unpleasant to eat, meaning I won't puke if I were forced to eat it. But I'd rather eat something else.

I must be full of crap but I think it's the name that puts me off. ... Nooogahh ... bleghhh. Surely they could have thought of something else.

Love 'em. The Damascus brand is my favourite, even more so than home made.
