Well, considering the sun has only 5 Billion years to go, Should we stress about it today? Must we introduce a sun tax to make that 5 Billion and one years? That is what fart tax is. Think about it, they bring in all these taxes, but can they solve the problem at hand? Yes, nuclear fuel will last for a very, very long time. But at some point it doesn't matter any more. We need power today, not a million years from now. We need a functioning economy today, not a million years from now. Humanity needs to survive now and as we continue to survive we can create better ways to deal with nuclear waste and other forms of waste. But implementing a fart tax and killing thousands of animals because we are not allowed to eat them any more sounds like a stupid idea.

The point I am making is, everything has an extreme factor connected to it. Not one solution we have is perfect. But there are people that wants to feed us bugs, and half dead fully natural plants because they can't think for themselves that a healthy plant has more value to it nutritionally.

What is the point of life? To become this sick little animal or a dominant natural power that can control its destiny? You decide, it is your world, I just live here...

Given we keep having them, Nuclear doesn't seem to be the safest solution.


The problem with Nuclear Power is two-fold.


Construction Time - it takes at least 10 years to build a nuclear plant.
- Construction times from zero to power are on average 10-15 years for a Nuclear Power Station.
- Construction times from zero to power for Solar or Wind are 3 or 4 months.

Nuclear Power isn't cheap
- Full costs of Nuclear aren't included in the much vaunted "cheap power" cost.
Aside from the massive costs for financing that need to be carried for 10 years while building it, the cleanup costs for decommissioning a site are never included. If you add those in, Nuclear power starts becoming less of a benefit.

And the Baseload argument -
- Nuclear power is run 24/7 as its too expensive to run otherwise. This confuses people who conflate "baseload" with financial requirements.

It's fairly obvious from a read of the reporting, that Nuclear Power is slowly being phased out, as newer generation is cheaper, and doesn't come with Nuclear's disadvantages.

Greed will kill us all... Nuclear in any form can be a disaster if not properly maintained and used. I made my peace with both humanity and God. Humanity will learn to love each other or die. Humanity will learn to respect each other or die. Lastly, humanity will learn to do things properly or die.

So make a choice between life or death... It doesn't matter to me, I am old and have 10 years left maximum.

Agree, Money is abstract and secondary in a closed system like Planet Earth, Natural Resources are primary, if you disrespect this as a leader anywhere in the world, at 7 Billion plus, you are going down slowly but surely and take the rest with you in the system, Communism, Socialism, Capitalism etc irrellevant, they all move resources by the medium=Money.
Humanity is about to learn great lessons, and maybe, just maybe the children of today can learn from it and rember, our natural age of only 70 years is a big problem in overlapping generations, we struggle to learn from experience in this regard..
During the early 50-Ties late 40-Ties at 3 Billion, humanity started to struggle with itself already, the human brain's Social INtelligence start to lack already then, the Intelligence that keeps the other intelligences in ballance, today 30 years after 1992+ is a real problem(Digital Accelleration-Deep-Abstract).

Nothing is without consequences in this closed system, simply because you can ran out of basic resources.
So renewables will cause Physical Polution scattered all over the surface of the planet eventually if implenented as only Man Made Resource. At moment this is not as visible yet.

If everybody has his own power source as suggested today, and something large scale happens like natural disaster, faults, parts etc, the average household will not have the finances to recover from that again, versus a common power source. The risk in this regard is huge in my opinion, and not proven.
