Nuclear warfare just stepped closer

It was rumored it had 120 km range(G6)
Satellite was working fine.

G6 - are you referring to the road range of the SP 155m howitzer system ?

wonder how many propellant charges must have been used to achieve a 120km range - which could have resulted in barrel wear being accelerated.

fire would be a bit inaccurate at 120km. had the range really been 120km the Cubans / FAPLA would have had BIG troubles

Problems were found with the Vela satellite data though - the two bhangmeter readings did not agree on the flashes brightness, perhaps because the aged sensors were no longer equally sensitive. This discrepancy, and the lack of confirming data from the inoperable EMP sensor, emerged as the chief reasons for casting doubt on whether a nuclear test had actually occurred. Discrepancies had been observed in Vela signals from previous confirmed atmospheric nuclear tests however

i guess we can agree to disagree - truth might never be known

would have expected a stronger reaction to the "nuke test" from Carter if it really took place.

It must have made a hell of a bang.
We used to add half a cup of petrol to the mortar tube.
I wish you could see the flash!
Think we got 7 km range out of them!
