Tab arrived yesterday.
Have not had the time to test yet,but man the screen is over 9000x better than that Sansui

Not that I am looking for Windows 10 tablet, but could it work instead of Chromcast for HD streaming? Thinking ahead, fiber is coming to our area in few months.

On the other side Windows 10 Home is definitely no go, it will update itself as a hell. Can we install Linux?

Memory and hard drive space is too small.

Need minimum 4gb and 64gig drive.

Had a Nextbook 10 with 1gb and 16gb and that was just about livable. I reckon 2 + 32 would be pretty spiffy for a tab costing R1400 or so. You certainly don't need 4 + 64 to run windows 10.

Just going by reviews and my own tablet. 32 gig is not enough after windows is installed. Reports of updating problems.

Also, using the tablet as a all in one device. My 4gig one uses ram like hell

I'm just going by what I know for a fact.
32 gig is plenty for the OS. I had it running on 16gig. My suggestion to windows tablet users is to use an SD card for apps and files and leave the built-in "hdd" to windows.

As to the memory thing, like I said, Windows 10 was just about usable on 1gig, it can only be more usable on 2. It obviously depends on what you're using the device for. I would imagine most people aren't using their R1400 tablet for emulation or video editing.

Windows will adjust to the amount of available memory. If there isn't much, it will use paging or whatever the modern equivalent is which shouldn't be too much hassle on a device with solid state memory.

Never got to fully test it.My SO decided that it was hers and thus claimed lol.
I can tell you that she uses it daily without complaints(to me at least)

So with a weird turn of events,I was able to get myself the other version of this Tab off a local classifieds site.
Its pretty much the same as the above with the following CPU - 1.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3735F

Hanging on to this one haha.
Will post a review soon

Not the same CPU. x5-Z8300 has a high peak performance (aproaching i3/i5 in short bursts) and I think is able to decode the latest movie standards (HEVC 10-bit and YouTube VP9), will try to verify later as a matter of interest, as looking for a decent streaming device.

EDIT: Nope. Only hardware support for HEVC 8-bit. CPU is not fast enough for decoding 10-bit HEVC in software. It is just Intel...

Sorry I worded it incorrectly.
I meant its the same specs as above with the exception of the CPU,that being Z3735F.
The one from my original post has the x5-Z8300,which the SO claimed

It's important to note that if a gpu cannot decode video via hardware there always is the slower software fallback which (correct me if wrong) tends to happen automatically... hardware decoding can also be set to only be available for a specific app.

I have one and use it all the time - it's great as long as you only have one application open - well worth the peanuts it cost!
