Hey all! I am speechless...
I posted the following on Rain's FB, because the chance of witnessing a clowncar crashing into another clowncar on the N2 is more probable than speaking to anyone at Rain with any knowledge of anything.
I've contacted rain South Africa via your support page, I've sent numerous messages via FB and I am still left without any form of resolution.
I was a beta tester for GeForce Now, which is all fine and well, and upon receiving the email about the cessation of the beta phase, I, like many others I know who took part, expected to stay connected and choose a plan.
Unfortunately, this was not the case. I have beta tested so many digital products before, yet I've never encountered an occurrence where the beta testers are kicked to the curb and left with an Xbox Game Pass payment that's due, a brand new Razer Kishi V2 controller with a 7-day immediate return warranty I can't use, and 17 new Steam games worth over a R1k that I cannot play.
GFN also distracted me from work, which was a saving grace because I do trauma counselling for the people of Gaza...
And if that weren't enough, I am also suddenly being charged R200.00 for GFN priority membership, due at the end of the month.
Nothing. Here I am, feeling like an idiot, thinking Rain would have the decency to allow their Beta Testers an early sign-up for the official launch.
What is wrong with you guys? It's insane.
Their generic reply, "Keep an eye out blah blah blah blah blah!"
I contacted them yesterday using the 5G RainTalk app. I am a Rain One subscriber.
The call died thrice... When I eventually got through to them I explained the situation, but as we all know by now nothing is ever as it seems with Rain. It's like a haunted baby...
Also, my name is Rain.
The conversation went like this:
Rain: "Is it Rain?"
Me: "Yes."
Rain: "Is it Rain providing the service?"
Me: "Oh. Yes. I thought you asked if it's me speaking-"
Rain: "We'll have to escalate! What's your name and email address?"
Me: "Rain (Last Name), email is rain@*****.com"
Rain: "I don't understand...?"
Me: "I'll repeat-"
Rain: "Okay, Rain will follow up. This is not a joke?"
Me: "Rain, are you joking?"
Rain: "No, uhm, Rain."
