Eh will wait for benchmarks...

Nvidia have hardly ever bullshitted with their slides, but yes, best to wait on the benchmarks.

All I know is people assumed a lot going into this announcement, especially with the price.

The supposed leap in power is massive after watching the Digital Foundry video. The 3080 will make the next-gen consoles look average.

Nvidia also announced their halo. Big Navi has quite a mountain to climb. The 3090 is replacing the Titan and will apparently be mass-produced. 3 Slot card...

This is what I told myself would trigger an upgrade. Close to double 1080Ti performance for the same price I paid for it.... well, same $ price.

Although to be honest, I'm still CPU bound in some games at 1440p, so I would only buy it for RTX.

I guess the 3060 will be priced $399, and the 3090 is apparently priced $1499 (which is replacing the Titan which was priced at $2499).

All eyes will be on the 2060/2070 benchmarks.

I honestly don't think that AMD is going to beat Nvidia... except in price maybe, but Nvidia played this one very smart in regard to pricing. Console wars and all that.

Yes, the cards are compatible with the existing 8-pin power connector and all the other worries have already been addressed.

EDIT: Fixed typos

Pity I recently bought a 2k series. Oh well. Inevitable in the hw game I guess

I wonder if the 20 Series cards are going to have a fire sale.
The RTX 3070 gives RTX 2080Ti performance but for almost 1/3 of the price.

The 20 series was always going to age badly. People paid money to beta test features for Nvidia.

Unless the 2080ti is going for under R8k, you would wise to just wait.

Dollar prices look good, too bad south african pricing never mirrors relatively with the exchange rate. Be prepared to pay overly premium rand prices.

RTX 3070: from R10,900
RTX 3080: from R15,500
RTX 3090: from R33,300

Expect the theoretical RTX 3060 to cost around R7,750 and we may eventually see a RTX 3050 for around R5,500

One thing about these slides is they don't give an idea of rasteriser performance. For games that don't support Ray Tracing and DLSS, we don't know how much faster they are.

Must say though, that $499 3070 has my name all over it.

I'm thinking Nvidia's much better pricing is partly out of respect for what AMD have coming out in November.

Hoping the 3 year old 1070 makes it to Jan-Feb next year :D
