Yeah, but they have certain times when they have free open registrations, that's how i got in.

It depends on what error's you getting though, but they mainly server related. If you using the free SAIX server from Telkom or from another ISP, your retention is about 10 days so downloads older than that will fail.

You should get a paid for subscription for older and better results in downloads. Like Nextgennews or Tweaknews and stuff. IIRC Tweaknews offers a 10 day trial

Yeah I have a paid new server account that offers 2395 days retention. So will see how it goes. Also got an invite to NewsTown. So going to also test it out. Hoping the stuff works a little better from now on. Been struggling with it for a few days now.

No, I have been using SickRage as I am told its better?

The frustrating thing is when I ask SickRage to find the relevant NZBs, 80% of the time it says no downloads found. However when I check the actual site, it has the NZBs I was after. Maybe I should give Sickbeard a try?

Yeah, i've got sickbeard running now for about 3 years or so, and have not had any issues since day 1.
 
Will definitely set it up tonight to see if its any better. SickRage seems a little finicky :( Looks nice though..

Does sickbeard with with sabnzbd?

Thats the last aspect of my setup is getting to the stuff to XBMC. At the moment I use a USB drive to copy / paste. Thats mainly down to a piss poor network connection between the two computers. Want to put cable in. At the moment I use Wireless and transferring big files over two WiFI card and a route is just painful.

Yeah, i get you. I opted for Wired also recently, streaming PLEX over the wifi on my TV was just not doing it for me, wifi kept dropping, then PLEX Server does not recognize the device, then i kept getting kicked out, too much hassles, then rather just added cable from TV to router to switch where PLEX Server is, and sorted.

You're new to NZB's welcome happy downloading as to NZB-SA
I am a user of NZB-SA and i can assure you that all our files are 100% all passworded files have the password in the NFO which people seem to miss we do get FAKE's not all nzb's are 100% but our FAKES get removed ASAP to insure that all members are satisfied with there files and we have a very lovely community that will help you when we can. If you go to staff we there are a variety of people that can help you.

Thanks for the response.

However the other issue I have is the downloads always fail half way through for no apparent reason. I'm setting the whole system up again from scratch and will try out NZB-SA again.

What do you use for downloading ? Most programs (e.g. SABnzbd) restart the downloads automatically.

BTW I'm also a very happy user of NZB-SA.

I use SABnzbd as a downloader. Though for some reason 90% of my downloads fail I just don't know whats causing it. Very frustrating.

  • SABnzdb has error logs (click the "Status" button top-left that should point you in a direction.
  • Click on the name of the failed download (in the "History" section - the lower half of the screen) for details of the cause of the failure.
  • You can also (in the "Config") configure SABnzbd to send you an email with details of the cause of the failure.
 
I haven't had much experience with indexing sites but am currently using nzbgeek which seems to work well and costs R70 for six months. Are the local sites mentioned above cheaper and/or better quality? Anyone?
 
Oh...also, I migrated from sickbeard to sonarr and am really pleased with the additional functionality.
