All I'm trying to say is that you get some stupid nut jobs on this planet and we are better off without them.
That airplane fuel burned at 1200 degrees.
The steel in the towers could withstand temps up to 2500 degrees.
Even then, for the steel to melt it would have to endure continued exposure by adding more and more fuel (ie. that specific metal doesn't just melt, it is designed not to) -- unlike the events of 9/11.
Those pesky engineers and their facts..

The government that you defend abandoned those men after 9/11 when they developed respiratory problems as a result of working in the debris; many of whom could well be dead today because the government couldn't be bothered to pay for the medical bills.

Ok, how about asking those engineers what happens when the concrete that this metal supports, and in turn is supported by, is destroyed by a jumbo jet flying into it, and with the resultant flames/temperature. You seem totally focused on what a metal beam on its own can withstand in terms of heat alone; but how about what that metal beam, subjected to a massive kinetic assault, plus high temperatures can withstand. And another thing - any research on whether continued stress based on weight PLUS degradation due to the elapse of time? Do that Stu, why don't you....

I made reference to Japan and China abandoning the dollar as reserve currency, and BRIC (including SA) proposing the same, India paying Iran for it's oil in gold, etc, etc. but it seems that was all ignored and twisted into some ludicrous accusation. Sad.

Well concrete can still survive under high temperatures, its maximum limit is around 760 degrees, Steel looses most of its strength around 300 ish. Well steel changes phases, each one has its own characteristics.
