Oblivion Remastered - The Thread

FYI under graphic settings running borderless disables the display resolution dropdown,
so it will use the monitor resolution from windows.
couldn't select my resolution in the dropdown in fullscreen or windowed mode onyl had 3440 x 1080.
borderless mode working at 5120 x 1440
 
Cool vid. Remaster looks great but it is too damn brown. Brown... brown everywhere!

Will wait for a patch or mod that makes the game green and vibrant again, as it should be. Just look at that intro comparison, the original looks better.

From what I've seen, the colours seem to be the one and only complaint people have with this remaster. Not sure why they thought making the whole game brown would be a good idea :(

I prefer the remake's colors its more natrual.

The problem with OG is that it came out during the brown phase, and Bethesda went out of their way to counter that, so far out that everything had the blue-green tint in it. Avoiding brown so much that even the dirt was gray/green/blue ie, anything but the actual color of soil.

 
Surprisingly good performance

Outside areas has a bit of a stutter every once in a while, but running on high at 2k resolution, DLSS balanced, with a RTX3060 is not too shabby

Way better performance than starfail


I hate the sprint button with a passion though

What's wrong with the sprint button? Im still downloading it at the moment

The vibrant green look though, as I said before, gave the game a unique "painting" look. Sorta made the game look like a vibrant fantasy storybook fairytale which I absolutely love.

I can imagine that ES6 will look naturally brown overall because afaik the game will take place in Hammerfell and I've always seen Hammerfell as Tamriel's Africa. So dusty, brown savannas, deserts, mountains etc.

Cyrodiil I've always seen as Tamriel's France lol, so lush green forests etc, not brown.

Skyrim is white and gray because it's Tamriel's Norway or Arctic. :p

Every ES has a unique look and feel but I feel like they've made the remaster look like every other brown Unreal game.

Never used to have a sprint

You could either walk or run
Or you could walk and hold shift to run, then when you release shift you walk again

That's how I like it

Now walk and run is toggle only
When pressing shift you sprint which cancels out the walk toggle and toggles run after sprinting

So basically I need to toggle the walk back on every time I sprint

Sounds like a nitpick, but when you consider Skyrim added sprint as a separate button from run and everything still worked as Elder Scrolls have worked since Morrowind, why could they not do it here?

It's like if you took the classic Super Mario and changed the jump button from A to B

You just don't do it

Hate it when people tell me how to play. Switch of the internet when you play game and it will be so much more fun learning and playing your own style.

EXCEPT: If you doing a Destiny raid. The abuse from players because you did not watch a video is NEXT level :ROFL:

All I know is

Walk = L X+
Sprint = L3

Works in 99% of the games I play on Xbox/PS5/Switch
