I need some advice on a warranty void on my SSD.
I bought the SSD in November 2013, plugged it into my PC, all is well.
Almost 1 year later to the date I switch on the PC one morning, SSD not found (OS Drive).
So I do the normal checks, process of elimination and come to the conclusion the SSD is dead.
Sent the drive in via Esquire under warranty(5 year warranty on drive), 3/4 weeks later(today) got a call from Esquire saying that the warranty is deemed void by the manufacturer because there is a small chip on the power adapter causing the drive not to be detected...
Now my question is how the hell does that happen?? :wtf:
The drive was plugged in once then operated for a year before dying, then plugged out and tested on another power adapter to eliminate the current power adapter as a problem. So a max of 4 times was the power cable removed, 3 of those times after the drive died.
Is that to much wear & tear?? I have HDD's that are more than 5 years old that has taken a much harder "beating" than this drive and still 100% working order.
So would you guys take this further (where and how) or move on and moer the thing stukkend against a wall?
*Rant complete*
