Bring us bigger data packages PLEASE.

I am just throwing this out there and yes, reiterating what many people have asked for. I have been contemplating dumping ADSL and moving to 3G but the thought of having to constantly swap simcards in my router every time I run out of bandwidth has kept me from moving over to you folks. Please can you release some larger data packages for us... please please please.

I don't know about others but I would love to have a 10 gig package that uses less cap during off peak periods. Say something like 5:1 during the midnight to 6am period.

Please cell c bring on the competition to ADSL.
 
why not just add your second package to the same sim instead of swapping out the sim cards?
 
You can do that? How?

My understanding is you need to buy another data sim to get the second 5 gigs.

Please give me a step by step on how to do this?

I have actually held off adding a 2nd 5GB package to current one.
Hoped for better pricing or something new to be offered.
Maybe CellC can give us a off peak package (00:00 - 06:00) 10GB to bundle onto our current 2/5GB package? Or more if they so wish :)
Would be subject to having a 2/5GB deal already.

I would also be interested in this. Ideally need about 10gb of data, but also reluctant to swap out sim cards.

Isn't this something we've been asking for since the beginning?? I don't remember ever seeing an answer to this, other than "We'll look into it"
 
Trust me rep if you can bring in a 10 Gig package that uses data at a reduced rate off peak for about R500+- you guys will get so many people dropping ADSL it will not be funny. I think the reason this thread hasn't exploded is that this has been brought up before but usually inside other threads.

CMON Dammit I have money for you, sell me the gigs nobody else wants at a reduced price and give me a proper cap! Some of us use the internet for more than email and internet banking and need the data.

I think that if you can bring this out and have a simple topup procedure at say R75 per gig (with the 5:1 after hours thing), telkom will lose so many customers it will have to pack up its crap and close shop.

Cellc's network is slow enough now without encouraging the mega Gig download kiddies onto it...please NO
 
I ditched my 4mb ADSL for the Cell C 60GB deal, but I'm now in a position where I'm considering moving back to ADSL after my 60GB bundle expires because its expensive and cumbersome to add additional data, especially now that there are reasonably competitive 1mb ADSL packages out there. A nice 10GB deal would sort that problem out perfectly.

You realise the mega gig downloaders would be using the time between say midnight and 6am right? Most likely about half of a 10 gig bundle would be used in this time by those downloaders and so overall would have no more effect to the network than the current 5 gig users.

Far as I can tell this would be free money for Cell C, wonder why nobody thought of this? Perhaps the billing system isn't up to it or they like paying for a 24/7 network and only selling a maximum of 16 hours of usage?

If it was locked to that time frame sure but otherwise i think its dangerous ground to encourage high plan adsl users over to 3G as the networks won't stand up to it......i'm making that statement from seeing good cellc network speeds go to the current level,......black modem that now never see's even 1/8th of its speed capabilities = pointless.......that's in both Durban & Cape Town

Tun@ has a point.
But a larger cap would be better, 5GB just about finishes for me few days before month end & thats just with business use.
Oh and trolling around on mybb
 
Looks like 8ta has come to the party, really with cell c would provide larger package options. I don't want to use telkoms step child.

I don't think cellc will be launching any newer data contracts, at least for the next 6 months anyway

Will be great! My 5Gig/m promotion expires in October/November and I am shopping for around for the best deal. I really don't want to leave Cell C, but price and service is king.
You can do it Cell C.
