But my income is pretty consistent. If not increasing slightly every month. But I do understand what you are saying. And I do realise this is probably going to be an issue.

What is the best way to check how much they will loan me without proceeding with a loan immediately?
Standard Bank has a pre approval on their site but Im sure other banks also have the same.

The bank will look at your average income over a 12 month period but might require a bigger deposit.

You don't need a payslip, just the ability to prove a stable income. This usually means bank statements for a longer period of time than salaried employees, to determine a monthly average...

Fnb also have pre approvals on their homeloan site. But its not set in stone. For an application (it goes through 30+ hands). So make up your mind quickly, and contact your own bank if you want to see what they offer

And if you are working for yourself... as mentioned above, expect a big deposit requirement

Nie te kak nie, al is jy viking , it's better than most. And we all know that you have Hubble batteries, so that's a massive plus.
Thing is, even though landlady may want to sell, prospective buyers, unless they want to stay themselves, absolutely love :love::love: well-paying tenants. You are as scarce as hoender tande. You actually make her balancesheet look good to prospective buyers.

So if I were you, and I were happy being a tenant, then I would stay put. Huur gaat voor koop, so you actually have more rights than any of the other two involved in the transaction.
Drink some Camomile tea (for a change) and relax. You'\re getting your knickers into a knot for no good reason. If I were you, I'd wait it out and see what happens.

Lol, you are reading me wrong. I am not stressing here.

I am considering a life decision.

or a life mistake.

The last time someone in my family owned a property I was a little kid and I was looking back over my shoulders, tears in my eyes, asking mommy "why are they taking our stuff away mom? But that was my tree house mom?" and since then we have moved from one house to the next.

So the last thing I want is the bank to come take my stuff away again.

Try not to make excuses for unreasonable behavior, in others as well as yourself.
It's good to be prepared. I understand that. It's another thing to be completely paranoid. There are things that are beyond your locus of control. The things that are within your locus of control are far smaller than what you think they are. If you can change them by worrying, then you are a DemiGod :)
Live a little. Be cool. Relax.

Everything is gonna be OK. No matter what happens, it's all gonna be OK..
