Offer to purchase question

Is it common for nothing new to happen for a week?

Last update was us confirming insurance and life insurance with bond originator. As well as us paying their proforma invoice received.
And last update from transfer attorneys was that the sellers have already signed at their office.

Since then nothing new and we have not been to offices to sign anything else.
Best advice I can give you right now is to try your best to ignore the process. You can't do anything to speed up the process and you'll only get frustrated trying to follow every step. The lawyers will be in contact if they need anything from you.

Some good advice here.

Thanks.

Simply asking what is on our mind because we think so many other first time buyers might have the same question later. Now they can see it is common and not to feel worried about it.

Especially because things happened a lot quicker in the beginning and there was so much communication from the agent, bond originator, insurance companies, bond attorneys and transfer attorneys to begin with.

Are you able to buy a block of apartments ie 5 apartments by taking out one loan?

I was about to post here asking the same thing

We've also just been sitting and waiting after the bond acceptance was sent to the attorneys and we submitted all the necessary docs. I mailed them for an update yesterday and they are "drafting the bond documents". I guess the delay is normal at this stage.

So we are still at the exact same point.

The race is on to see who moves in first :p

@APoc184 you mentioned your insurance was cheaper through your broker previously. Who are you with? Or any recommendations?

Property Insurance or Life?

With Life Insurance we went with a Liberty Policy through our personal broker.
Property and household content insurance we are with Brolink (Santam I believe). Also through our personal broker.

Why do you have to pay agents fees and rates clearances certificates if you're the one buying the house?

I bought this week, and I have a municipal clearance certificate fee (for the buyer). That doesnt make sense at all

I now queried it via the legal team. I got a quote before hand not listing it!

S h i t mense kan skelm wees
