I downloaded and installed installed the trial of Office for Mac 2011 and now the trial period has expired. When I wanted to purchase a key online, South Africa wasn't listed as one of the available countries.

Can anyone advise how I can purchase a key as it is bound to be a lot cheaper than the R2 500 that the iStore wants - i don't need the physical media

@creeper Have you tried this? I only have an SA credit card

It is the license that is expensive, not the media. Media is R120 at the most...

Well. I bought mine on the Home use licence with my SA credit card.

It doesn't matter what CC you have when shopping on internet. VISA / Mastercard does all the"work". We buy software off the net from international sites all the time with CC.

Has anyone tried getting MS Office 4 Mac using a MS TechNet subscription?

Just asking, as I had contemplated doing it, had I not bough MS 4 Mac via my work's Home Use Program deal thingie with MS... http://hup.microsoft.com/

Best $9 I ever spent...

Home and Student available here for R989. Home and Business for 2399.

I'm running H&S myself. Word, Excel and Powerpoint work, Outlook does not, unless you buy H&B. Seems like an awful lot of money just to replace Mail ...

Nothing wrong with it.

Except that iWork is better.

I find Office 11 is better than iWork. Bought them both but I just find myself using office for most of my work, and iWork for 'prettyness'

We'll have to agree to differ, then. I am not a spreadsheet guy, so I won't comment on those, but Pages is the first word processor I've ever seen on which styles actually make sense. Decide that you want a style to change to the format you've just created? Two clicks and you are done. And Keynote is so much easier to use than PowerPoint that I only open up the latter when somebody sends me one to look at.

In iWork, I write. In Office, and <shudder> Open/LibreOffice, I fight the interface. But, each to his own.

Pity I used mine on my PC before I migrated to Mac! :( Apparently you can buy both on one account.

Hi, you don't know me but I am a distant nephew ...

:D Will run a background check shortly...

I'm very disappointed! 1.12GB install file won't work. "not recognised" is the message I get. Will do a bit of Google & try to figure out what the problem ...!

I downloaded the trial version and used the key from DigitalRiver email. I am happy to inform you guys that I managed to install Office for Mac 2011 on my machine.

Thanks chris2.0 for your suggestion. ;)

Please help. Cannot buy from the Microsoft US store as South Africa does not exists according to the Americans. I am downloading the trial version. I have a Macbook Air and don't have cd-rom so can't install that way. I need to download it.

Stupid idiotic Microsoft allows you to download it and SA is a option in the country list but not when you want to buy it! It's not available on the App Store because Apple is trying to punt their iWork suite.

@NetDude. Please tell me how you did it.
