OFFICIAL 2008/2009 EPL Thread

I am also counting them. The time has come. The other big teams are all slipping up and dropping points. We are scoring goals and conceding none. Things look great.

I think that draw takes Liverpool out of the race for the EPL.Its now down to Chelsea and Manchester. Also the way its going Arsenal would have to win the champs league to qualify.

After tonight's results (assuming the scoreline stays the same at Goodison Park) Chelsea look like the most likely threat to Man U, however they're 5 points adrift, and at this stage of the season that's a hefty margin to overcome, especially considering Man U have just started to peak. I doubt any team is going to catch them any more. Tonight's results work out perfectly for Man U and Aston Villa...

Arsenal grab a late point, thank god! I can't believe they only woke up to play after the 90 minutes were up.... really disappointing....

Nope - Van Persie just equalised with a minute of injury time left. I can't stand watching teams play for the corners and waste time like this - they inevitable concede a goal. It is a plain stupid idea, just retain possession...

Same old Rafa.
How NOT to win the league:
Leave Alonso, Keane and Riera out of the team. Then just to make sure that you dont score more goals continually take off your best attacking players.

So upset now that I don't want to post something that i'll regret later but I believe we have well and truelly handed the league to United.

What a strike from RVP

One moment of pathetic defending costs 'Pool for the 4rd straight game. Arsenal needed to get that point desperately or Everton would have only been 2 points behind in 6th place :o

He was resting them. Chelsea in 3 days time. We've got 5 games in 13 days. Today I think he got it right except for leaving Babel on and not replacing him with Keane. Wigan played well and are a very decent side. We played well enough to deserve to win. IMO we lost the chance with the home draws and the away draw to stoke.

who are you and what have you done with the real Alan?

lol. I'm just grumpy man. United keep on winning while we keep on drawing.

Rafeal Benitizez stepped down as Liverpool's manager this morning, he informed the club at the press conference held an Anfield, he apparently wants to become an artist because he likes to DRAW !

:D

We need to sign players like Styles, Bennet and Riley to turn our draws into wins like Mau Utd have ;)

Somebody needs to show him how points allocation works. Draws are only 1 point not 2. Drawing 3 games in a row is the same as losing 2 of them and winning one. Aston Villa are now 1 point behind Liverpool and they've lost 3 more games

Okay I've calmed down now after last nigh. Here are my thaughts

1)Rafa has no ****ing balls what so ever
2)He is so obsessed with not loosing that he can't seem to see that it's the 9DRAWS thats ****ing up our title challenge.
3)His line up was bizarre(I don't care if we playing Barcelona, Inter Milan and Kaizer ****ing Chiefs in the next week, play your BEST team whenever, wherever)
4)His substitutions were beyond bizarre.
Replacing Gerrard with Keane was his way of sending some sick message out to the fans. Why take off our best attacking player and replace him with a player YOU have no confidence in?

Wow, did he really take off Gerrard for Keane? Was it at least 1-0 at that stage?

1-1 IIRC. They just equalized. In his defence though Gerrard could barely run he was so tired

hehehehe and to think Everton was in the relagation zone at the beginning stages of this season yet who would've thought they would carve out two 1-1 draws off liverpool the pretenders to the throne :P
