OFFICIAL 2008/2009 EPL Thread

agree with you boet ,what manager in their right mind would want to make substitions immediatly at half time ,esp when his team was dominating the match

@fernando i actually think the subs were positive bringing on Babel ,Ngog and Yossi ,they are all attacking players ,i have no problems with the subs he made yesterday

Lampard sent off in 60th minute. Took Rafa 14 minutes before he made a sub. Just like how he waited and waited against Arsenal after we went a man up at The Emirates.
He is VERY predictable with his substitutions. Took him 23 minutes before he removed mascherano(a defensive midfielder against an underperforming 10 man chelsea?)
imo(It's just my opinion) Masch should have been brought off immediately after Lampard was given his marching orders.

Fair enough. it's your opinion. I just don't agree with it. If I was a manager and the opposition went down to 10 men at that specific point in the match, I wouldn't change the team. I would give them a few minutes to see how the game changes in terms of formation and intent on the oppositions part. I would then after assessing the game and players make my changes. My opinion of coarse.

A few minutes maybe but 20?

Keane is apparently off to Spurs. Left with a strike force of Torres, Kuyt and Nogog. bah. Guess Voronin mite return from his loan spell to "bolster" the attack.

Fair enough but 23 minutes seems a bit much to me.

LOL @ Voronin and @ the quotation marks around bolster :)

Everton did better with no recognised strikers on the pitch - I am not sure if the same will apply here.

An FA statement reads: "Bosingwa was involved in an incident with Liverpool's Yossi Benayoun during the Premier League match at Anfield on February 1.

"Referee Mike Riley has informed the FA that, while he did not see the incident himself, it was seen by his assistant Mo Matadar. No action was taken against Bosingwa by the officials.

"Under the FIFA Laws of the Game, the FA is prohibited from taking disciplinary action when incidents are seen at the time by the match officials."

Wow

Mo must be short for Moron :o

I see Pepe is saying that he expects to see his Portugese team mate at Real Madrid soon.

LoL - this saga will never end until he makes the move. I wonder how much United will eventually sell him for.

eh? who? deco? :o I see you were trying to post this in the La Liga thread :D

I am not convinced he will go. How much do they want him still? I guess there is still plenty of the season left for him to shine...

Well Ronaldo plays in the EPL - so i posted it here. That and half the forum doesnt know who Pepe is
if I remember correctly Pepe = Real Madrid - unless he's moved... So he's expecting ronaldo to be at real?
