Official 2015 Currie Cup Thread

So, sadly, I couldn't watch the game last night :cry: apparently beers with friends is more important
/shame!

watched the extended highlights on catch up. beautiful to watch.

So two questions to all (because I can't really see these points just on highlights):
1. Scrums. How was it? Who was dominant? How was Kitchoff compared to his opposition?
2. Was the Lions just that brilliant, or did WP defend like children?

PS: This is the Lions team that us loyal Lion supporters have been looking for, for years. The way they approach the game makes me proud to be a supporter of this team.

To answer your questions:

1. We were dominant at times, we did get a tighthead.
2. The Lions were brilliant. Marx's try was a beaut with Jaco breaking the Province defence at will. It's difficult to stop a rolling maul, so ja teams will use it to their advantage. We do need to work on our defence structures, but it will improve over time.

It is the team we have been waiting for. The Akkers & Swys combination is working as it should be and with them at the helm I cannot wait for next year SR.

Awesome, spoke to some of my Lions supporter mates. Apparently Kitchoff was quite the opponent. Carried Kwagga around like a sack of potatoes at one point :D, but the other side was never a challenge.

I'm looking forward to the next 3 weeks of the Currie Cup, I just hope we keep dominating. Anything can happen in a semi and final, and being a proper Lion supporter, there is never a time when we feel completely comfortable with our teams performance, even with 60-up and 70-up in the last two weeks, we'll never be comfortable enough to say "we've got this" :D

Ja well Kwagga v Kitchoff is a no match up really.

Yes, hopefully complacency doesn't play a role in our demise in the semi's or final. If we were ever to loose a game it will be against the Kwaste, don't really mind. We have the top spot sealed.

Was just posting on Lionsworld forum that Franco, Jaco & Howard needs to sit this weekend out with Warren at the helm and give some of the youngster a go.

It's been a while since we had this much depth to pick from.

Yeh, maybe the guys could do with a rest. 9 straight wins is no easy task :D
