Exactly. I'm a Bulls fan myself, but Vermeulen is just miles ahead of anyone. I think Piere Spies can actually be a massive impact player off the bench, kinda in the Skinstad mould, only better.

As long as Vermeulen starts, Spies can play at 6/7/8/bench or wherever. Although Arno Botha, Nizaam Carr, Jaco Kriel, Warren Whiteley and the likes are making the fringe loosies for the world cup squad a very nice headache indeed.

Yeah, 6/7/8 we're well stocked. In addition to the ones you mentioned we have Alberts, Louw, and Coetzee...

Just confirmed by Cheetahs that Naka and Os is leaving.

Franco Smith and Corniel van Zyl takes over their respective positions from next year.
 
Well that is a strange one.

Naka is actually retiring completely. Os is heading abroad to coach there. (Maybe with Jake White?).
 
Jeez, no Vaseline. Reds going to be walking funny for the next few days.

I hear what you are saying but lots of effort and passion alone doesn't put bums on the seats and it sure as hell doesn't fill the trophy case.

I loved both as players but coaching was definitely not for them.

I know Franco has done quite well as coach but SuperRugby is a whole new level. It is not Varsity Cup and it is not Italian Club rugby.

He will be showed up quickly if he doesn't have the creative mind and team behind him to take it to the next level.

How's the relationship between the boardroom and the coaching staff/players? Any problems there?

Really hope Smith can spark something for them.

I believe it is quite well.

I know a few years back Naka had something against Francois Uys. Would not speak a word to him and treated him like crap. (Never found out why)

Francois went straight to the board and they intervened. Set up a mediation and everything cleared up. So well that Naka opted to make Uys captain.
