Philosophy? More like a belief in fairies. :D

Well, I look at it like this...

If Stormers win, it's a double bonus because we won and I'm happy and my Bru also benefits, making me even happier at the fun I'm having by participating.

If Stormers lose, then I'm annoyed at the loss and don't give a shyite about that stupid blerrie Superbru crap anyway....

In Saturday's game at Kings Park in Durban, lock Lood de Jager (Cheetahs) and prop Tendai Mtawarira (Sharks) left the field with what looked like serious injuries.

De Jager suffered a suspected broken elbow and according to Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske, could be sidelined for up to two months, while Mtawarira tore his calf muscle and there are fears he could miss the entire Super Rugby season.

Werner Kruger also seems like a serious injury for the Bulls. Went off very early in the match with ankle injury.

Will probably only get a full report after scans today.

Arno Botha also injured his shoulder/pectoral muscle but early indications are that it is not too serious.

@sand_man will be glad to hear that Frans Ludeke thinks Pierre Spies is back to his best.

I'm not so sure I agree. He was pretty much his ruck inspector self of the last few seasons. Except for one half-break that Adriaan Strauss put him, he didn't do much.

Can't be too hard on him, I guess. First game back in a looooong time.

I agree. Although I do not have very high hopes of seeing the 2006/2007 Spies again.

If I were a Bulls supporter I would be most worried about fullback and the scrums. Some big problems there.

You can bet that that will be enough for HM to guarantee him a spot in the WC squad

The Lions, Sharks and Bulls started off a bit rusty... (a bit of a shaky start). But i have no doubt that they will rethink and re-strategize and sort things out in the next game or two.

Cheetah's looked Fairly good (even thought they don't have the best team, their defence was good and managed to sneak in some points to take that win.)

Stormers looking good so far. but only time will tell.

The fact that the stormers scrums and lineouts looked so good, defense doing very well and the front row making a UBER inpact.. physically pushing the opponents into their own half. Is a good sign to me.

Lets see what happens.

Personally I didn’t see a huge upset weekend.

The Reds and the Saders are playing with a second to their best team. The Reds are only expected to return to strength six games into the Super Rugby. The Saders will regroup as always, this trend had been established years ago.

Province (Stormers to others) vs Bulls, the only consideration here was youth vs experience, the Stormers had a rounded game and the Bulls could only play 60 minutes, youth outplayed the experience. The Sharks was dismal, Cheetahs deserved to win, this is an upset and a good upset. Lions… too much expectancy went into this game, the Canes gave them a good game and will give a good game to the Bulls this coming weekend.

The Force, last year had a clear indication that they are more than capable. Rebels know how to rout the best there is, how come they can’t do it against lower ranked teams… luck perhaps.

The only upsets to me was the Saders-Rebels game and the Sharks-Cheetahs game.

I also think that the Bulls may stumble now rather than later and they may still secure a top log position. The Sharks must better win the Lions or it may severely impact their upcoming games.

Fulcrum29 i agree.

The bulls will have to improve much and show us a nice game against the Hurricanes (we want to see a good game). They must better on the scrums. The lineouts were not dismal at this point. We also need to see much more power from the Bulls. The half-tackles did not go well.

Stormers vs blues, we want to see more of last weekend. The same strength they showed in the scrums and on the rush.

Sharks vs Lions, The sharks need to be much faster and be more clinical. They made too many mistakes in their last game. The sharks also need to be quicker on the draw. The Lions will be quick to maul the sharks. They love to over run the ball in the breakdowns. Lions don't have super stars in their team, but they do most of the basics right. Which creates lots of gaps for them in the field. Which makes the Lions a good overall team.

Cheetahs are on a "By" . Not much to say about them.

Ye, my picks were also... not as accurate as i hoped.

What are your predictions this weekend, just focusing on our teams?

Bulls vs Hurricanes
Stormers vs Blues
Sharks vs Lions
Cheetah's are taking this weekend as an "Off weekend / Going to watch the rest play a little"
