Yeah, they had a bad season. UEFA cup is still a top competition that most of the top teams have won in the past.

Top competition?? Its a second tier competition. It was worth something when only the top 2 sides in the league qualified for the champions league but not that the top 4 from spain,italy and england qualify the uefa cup is worthless to most of them.

Milan only have themselves to blame. This season will probably force them to invest and revitalise the team.

Anyway well done to my boys on winning our 16th scudetto.:D
 
The UEFA cup is a great competition with great football being played. I believe that it doesnt get the respect that it deserves. It has always been an amazing competition but the CL always used to over shadow it.

Look at the clubs who won it in the past, great clubs playing good football.

Why?

He was **** until this season that just passed, and Wenger offered him a new contract in December already, 4 months into the new season, when he showed he was consistently playing well

Not even Birmingham wanted to sign him last year
 
Flamini jumped at the AC contract.

Why? Cos he was only given a chance this season at Arsenal. He wasnt good enough in their books. And after making his spot his, and showing what he could do. Now they want to be sad he left.

Bottom line, treat players right and they will treat the club right.

Look at the clubs who play in it and then look at the clubs who play in the cl.

And great football?? Rangers played some of the worst football this season I have seen a semi final in a European competition play for a long time.

Real Madrid
Inter Milan
Juventus

But ya, none of those clubs can play great football.

He was given plenty chances and proved to be average.. players earn their places in teams because they play well, not because a club is a charity
Flamini was on form and performing this season, hence he was first on the team sheat..

The season before that he still had regular games, but his game play was average and Gilberto was not only on form but also the stand in captain

He was treated fine anyway and given an opportunity, but lets face the fact, the man left for money...
 
Flamini was always a good player. Wenger didnt play him. Whose fault is that?

Point is, Flamini has moved on. Lets be real, what player will say no to a contract at AC Milan.

Like I said that was before they increased the cl to 4 teams from italy,spain and england. When last did any of these sides play in the uefa cup??

I know Inter played in 2003 after getting knocked out of the cl group stages and then ended up sending a reserve team to the uefa cup games and concentrating on finish fourth in serie a that season. It was the season when cuper was fired inside the first half of the season.
 
Its still a good compeition. Unless you only watch the CL and your league play. I try to watch as much leagues as possible.

UEFA cup has some great teams. Even when the big teams played in the UEFA cup they never won it and thats with full strength teams.

Dont be bamboozled in under rating the UEFA cup. Surely the CL is the 1st prize. But to think that the teams in the UEFA cup are poor would just be daft.

Porto won it (uefa) in 2003 and then went on to win the champs league final the following year.
The uefa cup is as much a showpiece of football as the champs league and only someone who doesn’t appreciate/understand football will disagree.
