Yea i want to upgrade cause my gf does not have a decent pc and would like to give mine ............my gat jik om te upgrade
 
So then what are we expect from R 5 and R 3? Unless disabling some cores provides higher clocks, I don't see frequencies going up. Which is fine, they'll be be pretty competitive on price while providing slightly less performance.

If the price cuts from Intel come down to the competing chips, everyone's going to be really happy come Christmas time this year.

Ryzen is super fast with content creation and encryption too:

Sad part is that most game makers used intel as their partner ...So only time will tell if AMD will grow into something amazing

Bethesda has signed up with AMD as a partner, so at least some games will definitely run well on Ryzen and Vega

AMD has Radeon though and the game consoles too. Although obviously the consoles aren't Ryzen based.

They have plenty of gaming relationships they can leverage.

I reckon by the time the 1600X launches it will be a different story and the preferred gaming CPU.

The gaming differences are all at 1080p. If you use a higher res, it'll be the GFX card, not the CPU that's the bottleneck. So much of a muchness, especially when you consider the overall pricing.

Also how long have you had Intel for?

A change is always good once in a while, and you're supporting competition at the same time.

if you absolutely must upgrade now then the i7 is the better choice between the two.

Personally, I'd wait and choose between an R 5 and the competing Intel parts (i5-7600K) when they launch...an i7 is kinda throwing money away if your primary use is gaming. Much better to spend the difference on something else like a better graphics card.
 
I watched a couple of reviews and it looks like the drivers aren't optimized just yet (typical AMD on launch day). I didn't see one reviewer that could get 3200 ram working on any Mobo, they could only get 2666 ram working and even this created problems. They tried multiple Mobos and ram.

They also couldn't do some benchmarks because they were getting 30fps-160fps on the same tests or the benchmarks would crash the system.

The 1800x was stuck at 3700mhz and very seldom went up to 4100mhz but AMD said it should cruise at 4100mhz so again driver issues.

Unfortunately these benchmarks will be on the i-net forever and be the top 5 searches even after the drivers are fixed (intel makes sure of this).
 
^, well, drivers are an OEM issue typically. We could blame AMD if they released reference boards but I haven't seen any of those. Might have been a nice idea actually...make a few hundred and send those out for review rather than hope OEM's have properly implemented everything they've no doubt been discussing over the last year or two.

still, the launch is properly massive...not surprised there are some issues.

See now this is bugging me,watch how i upgrade to i7 and amd releases driver and boom same or better performance

I'd opt for Ryzen. Given the handicap of the drivers now already, imagine what it would be like once the drivers are optimized.
Also, more and more multi threaded games and apps will be released so the AMD looks like the way to go.
