OFFICIAL Android thread

no gold card nothing :) no changing any code. was so simple especially for us SA hero's on kernal 1.73

Well done!! So was it possible to do a Nandroid backup of your shipping ROM? Or did you downgrade before it was possible to install the recovery image?

yes did nandroid backup, and there was no downgrade before modaco rom

Whaha!! So why do they want to make it so hard for us?! :wtf: Very good news.. So when something goes wrong I'm gonna get that backup from you :D

wow there is no way to describe the smoothness and speed of this rom. phone feels entirely new, like i suddenly have the snapdragon processor or something.

yeah and sense and everything is still there and faster than ever

i is a happy chappy

LOL! I know right.. Lovit. Can't wait for 3.1. Probably gonna be the last Cupcake ROM from MoDaCo. Did you play Teeter? It's so fast and responsive.

if i start rooting, and roming - i aint gonna stop. Its too addictive and from previous experience from my htc touch it frustrating as you always want squeeze your device for everything its worth...

think i will wait for now - but i dont know for how long

I have it on mine... Maybe try to reinstall the maps it again?

Did you install the WaveSecure patch and boot up sounds?

I installed market enabler, newest recovery image (v1.2.3) and also partitioned my sd card for app2sd after I loaded the custom rom.

Some things you can do if you want :-)

damn thats freakingly accurate !

Just a quick question,

I now have the Modaco 3.0 rom running - faster, just need to tinker a bit. :D

My question is this:

The latest radio is stated as ****JU-*****.
My radio is the stock standard ****EU-****.

Are the radios all compatible? The JU radio is the one provided on Modaco site.

Yes all the GSM radio's are compatible, I'm using the JU one. As long as you never install something from CDMA your all good. Enjoy!

i loaded his latest radio last night... all good but i never really had problems before.

what tweaks have you done? share please :)

So I just rename the radio update to update.zip - just like the rom update?

Also, if something goes awry during the update, the nandroid backup will sort it out? (talking about radio update)

i didnt rename mine, just ran it straight from the recovery. which recovery you have?

as far as i understand the radio update is the thing that can brick you the easiest, but i reckon if you dont interupt it you cant go wrong

Yes that's all you do. Copy to SD. Boot to recovery then flash from zip. Then Wait!! Don't flash with back cover removed, you don't want the battery to fall out.
Nandroid can not recover a bricked radio because the phone will not start.
