what version of android are you running? i am running v2.1 and i also get the "housten we have a problem message"

At the moment you will need a custom ROM - search around at xda-developers, otherwise you can wait a couple of months for the official upgrade.

Another thing, the Google Translate app, does it support speech-to-text translation? ie, you speak in to the phone and it translates it and reads it out loud?

The App description in the market says it does, but I'm looking with a desire - I dont know if android 1.5 has speech to text and vice versa.

I gave up and rooted 2.1 with Sense on my Magic. I don't want to go back to 1.5 ever.
 
what gps are you guys using? waited so long for gps now i dont have any software.
 
I must say, 2 apps I like is TasKiller to kill processes that tries to run in the background like weatherbug and the other is Memory Booster Lite which frees up memory for you

I haven't tried memory booster yet. Thanks for the tip... going to install it now :) A few things I noticed with this update:

1) More memory is used
2) Phone is still faster (even though higher memory usage)
3) Battery life about half as good with this this update.
