I saw an interesting discussion on an Igame server last night. We actually had an Admin play with us and informed one of the players that he could get banned if he doesn't stop swearing. So the other dude said, but it's an over 18 age restricted game and how come swearing aren't allowed. So the admin says, it's against the server rules.

Both are valid rules, but I have to agree with the "other dude". Somehow: "Kragtie, maar dit was 'n onmoontlike skoot" just don't cut it for me.

I think there should be like a middle ground, where fsck can be allowed, but fsck (replace s with u) shouldn't or should both be considered for a ban-able offense?

We set up a ROE for our server that says excessive swearing will get you banned. Which means that if a guy says that the f**king lag sucks donkey b*$ls then we will not necessarily KICK him. But if he says "Sharkbait you haxing c@nt" we will for sure kick him from the server. He is welcome to join again after 5 minutes, but if he does it again it will be a temp ban, then perma ban.

Same with a player not willing to submit FRAPS screenshots to prove he is not hacking. If he doesn't or is unwilling, ban. Easy as that. I am not willing to let our server get like half the games in MW2/BC2. I pay for it I will enforce my rules.

Can they add the "P" word to that banneble offence? Cause a lot of guys are using that word And as a lady playing it isnt nice seeing the "c" word or the "p" word being used so much.

I agree 100%. BTW, is fraps the only way to check your fps in the game and how do you guys use it to see if someone is haxing or not?

Agree. Or maybe turn the word into ****, if at all possible. I have to admit, I use that word a lot, but I don't type it, I say it aloud when trying to break my mouse or something.

Also don't mind the swearing as long as it's not excessive ...... the P and C words are not tolerated. A 100% non swearing server is lame IMO.

As for the Fraps thing ... well, that's silly as Fraps won't catch a haxor at all. Better to make use of Xray.

Absolutely. One of our clan members has a daughter playing (14/15) and I wouldn't want her to be reading half the stuff that was said in MW2. I also use the word when I play, but don't necessarily type it (I did when I was called one in game - but that was MW2 where you had to defend yourself) Now I can just kick/ban the buggers.

I know of FRAPS and there are one or two other tools out as well, but FRAPS is the one that interferes least with your game. You will quickly see if someone is using a hack... Trust me! It is clear as daylight.

Unfortunately with the minimum admin capabilities that Treyarch gave us we are unable to do that... (the replacement of letters)

We are not banning people for swearing, we kick them IF it is deemed unnecessary/excessive. If you call me a poephol in the game we won't kick you for it. Obviously there are limits.

/cg_drawfps 1 works

Didn't know, as I never really needed to check the fps, but with all this bs going on with the game, I think you can make sure if the spikes are internet related or your poor pc's fault.

I have mine on. That is how I know I am lagging. It will run 60-80fps when running around etc. As soon as their is gunfire, it drops to 40fps and laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag. I am waiting for the patch now.

Edit: You can change it in the multiplayer config file(config_mp.cfg) as well instead of using the command.
