waterkoppie... I also saw him playing yesterday.

Keep in mind his ping was 25-30 compared to the rest who were 70-90... BIG difference.

Doesn't this chow BW?

nvm, IIRC, you have uncapped. anyway, do you guy know how much BW this uses? Obviously Dependant on how long the vid is.

It cant be much, takes less time to download the full match than it does to join a match!! Next time I will check to see... Maybe it streams it ? not sure about the mechanics behind it. You already have all the physics etc for each map, so my guess its just co-ords of each player + stats etc that download...

If you don't mind, please check. I can as well, but if it takes a lot of BW, then I have lost that BW. :( Joining matches for me is fast, or doesn't take that long.
 
I don't believe it uses a lot of bandwidth. I think it downloads the commands and keystrokes as well as match data (all text) and then the commands are given to your pc. I'd be surprised if it uses more than 10mb... After all, it uses your pc resources.
It loads up the video as if you were joining a map, so I believe this is a programme that records keystrokes etc rather than a physical recording of the match.

I would try it once or twice and then check your usage the next day :P
 
Something interesting... I did a dial up connection via my pc this morning and checked how my ping on the ct servers was on a telkom account. What I found was a ping increase of 5ms vs mweb and no lag to speak of... Will try again later and see if it is still the same
 
Just bought the game. Not bad so far. Played about 4 rounds online. Almost level 5 already. Pings was +- 40-90ms.

Now to try Campaign mode!
 
Just checked out the video playback (Theater) looks like it does not use much at all ... less than 2mb! There is a brief spike in down bandwidth right at the start before it renders... but its like 3 or 4 seconds on a 4 mb line. And thats it, nothing else, no activity at all while viewing!
 
Mine has been flawless since the beginig (well accept for the server problems) now im getting random freezez :(
 
guys playing BO on the PS3, does your multiplayer look like 800x600 ??? mine looks crapier than in the single player...is this normal?

Same here. Way to frustrating at the moment. I just end up screaming :p over the stuttering...


From what I have been reading on steam forum the game does not utilize GPU correctly. it uses CPU instead(100% usage problem)

I was so fscking mad last night, of all the games I played, I think I was able to finish 3 of them. That is, if I could join any. Quit the game to go and play NFS HP 2010, but needed to send a mail before hand and saw that my Iburst is up to sh it. I couldn't send mail, couldn't do a speed test, pings were over 250+, couldn't even browse MyBB. I just didn't have the energy to phone Iburst helpdesk. Checked this morning again and still same thing. Fsck I hate Iburps. :mad:
 
That is lame man! I am experiencing some issues with my DSL. It keeps dropping connection for some reason! I logged a call and just couldn't be bothered following up with them. If I get to play I play, if not then that is also fine. I am getting so gatvol... I think I need a holiday.

After this game we all going to need some therapy....... massage therapy from some or other hot chick that is.......:D
