I'm not against kicking. There was a guy called Gl1ch on Joe's Q server last night which abused a player from [PUMP], because he thought he was hacking. I watched the demo (or "Film" as it is now called) and the [PUMP] player is definitely legit. He has some mean "roam camper" skills. I would've banned that noob (Gl1tch) from my server for all eternity, never mind kicking him.

We are quite a small community and if you start kicking players left and right, people will just swarm to the servers where they have more freedom. Kicking for camping is, in my opinion, extreme. There ARE nice noobs out there too and they are welcome to be pwned by me whilst sitting in a corner.

I know dude, just venting. Sometimes they really get to me. Especially if you do not know the maps quite so well yet - you tend to forget that the prissy little thing is sitting in one specific corner, so when you run past for the third time he shoots you in the poephol...

I played against Glitch before ... something rings a bell about him, not sure what tho.... maybe he is a [DoG] clannie .... lol

It depends on the router. Mine has a drop down where you can configure a single IP or a range to forward to. As an aside note, To troubleshoot ports, it's easiest just to put the PC in the DMZ (demilitarized zone) and test. If you're still getting those errors, you'd know that it is not routing related. Don't leave it in the DMZ! That's asking to be attacked. Just use it for testing purposes.

The DMZ is an option which can be enabled for any fireawall built into a router. For my Netgear, the setting can be found under the WAN configuration. I don't quite understand what you mean with inner (Windows?) and outer (Router?) firewalls... :p
 
O okay...

No, from a Data Centre perspective in order to create a DMZ you require an inner (to seperate the "non dmz" servers from the servers in the dmz) and an outer (separating servers from www) firewall..
 
o/ folks, my copy finished downloading yesterday and managed to have a few games last night.

Major soz to all of those TK'd :p I was struggling to tell friend from foe on the hardcore TDM. Got a kick/ban but hope is temporary.

So everyone is still having the fps issues even with the w/e patch? I'm going to apply the config changes suggested elsewhere in this thread tonight and hope that it clears it up for me.

No, I am on a private Wimax solution. So no picking and choosing ISPs for me. I wish!!!

COD4 works fine..
So, it must be a coding/writing issue from Treyarch, as the pings are stable through most of a game, and then all of a sudden jump to 999 for a minute or 2 and then stable again.
Can be a peering issue with mweb, but as described, I do not think so.

So I am totally :confused: with this game and online play!!!

I know that wireless isn't great, but you shouldn't have a peering issue, so its just latency from being wireless. Ie ping should be about 140 or so. Am I right, or am I missing something?

I think I am going to join you guys on Q server. Be warned though. I am going to camp :p. Its the only way I can play with my lag issues. I actually had fun the other day with IRG and pow pow :D

Are you using Screamer? I was with them as well and also had kinda the same problem with another game, they never solved it, so I went for Iburst.

Yeah, I know it ain't a peering issue. Since I got the game, it worked beautifully for a wireless solution, but my problems only started on monday. Before that, I had between 80 - 120 ping, which I got used to with CODMW2. Now, I will go and create a class and when I want to go back, it says connecting again and then fetching stats and that class I created is gone. I can join a game, play almost 1min, then I get disconnected. Can't even play Combat training. :wtf:
 
Hardcore demolition on Nuketown is insane. I got 69-23 on one round.. and we lost it. I saw a dude do 120-(something). Had an awesome run on HC TDM tho, got my first flawless 22-0. When this games runs well its really nice. Lag seems like such a silly issue to be mucking it up half the time. I hope it all gets ironed out eventually. Whats you guys overall KD? Mines 1.25, with 3700+ kills i think. Prestige 1 lvl 36. I wanna find a clan to join.

Yip, but so far from the WISP I had almost no issues. Get better ping than most of my friends on wireless. So that is my conclusion. It is a game issue. And they must fix it.
Should have rather waited and bought GT5 today...... AAAHHH wel I'll get it next week!!!!!:D
 
Oh yeah, is anyone watching the 24/7 live stream from Machinima. They're trying to reach Prestige 15 as quick as possible. They're on day 13 I think.. not sure what level they're on now.. They play in shifts of 4 hours each.
 
@Neverwhere, come play against code, beat him on softcore and we can chat about you joining TO :D...

Hardcore is a good gametype to work on your reflexes and aiming, but softcore is where clans are going to be competing...

Is it not going to be like BFBC2 where it was almost a mixed mode?
 
@janseng - its very easy to go over 2... If you can camp, hide and spot people before they spot you...

I can't camp. I get bored... Camping requires patience and luck... Not so much skill.
@kosmik - I don't think so. If anything, it will be treyarch's version of promod... Didn't play bfbc/2. Worst game of 2010 :p
