Soooooo... Sturridge. I reckon he could do a fair amount over at Chelsea if he gets some playing time. Hope he doesn't flop. Still excited to see whether we can get Stochy up and running. I really liked what I saw of him last year.
 
Yeah he looks good.

I really hope we get Tevez, we need a hard working dog like him, imagine him to the right of Drogs/Anelka...

Bugger that. If Cole stays fit this year, he will be our answer. He works hard and is skillful to boot. More so than Tevez. I'm quietly optimistic.
 
Well a bit more news from the press conference.

Carlo insisted the Italian journos ask questions in English. Good one there. Said that Terry is not for sale at any price (though football is a fickle mistress) and confirmed that Yuri Zhirkov will sing for Chelsea. I like how he is going about things to be honest. He might actually neutralize the efforts of that twat Kenyon to completely mismanage Chelsea.

All we need now is for Kenonion to get the big boot up the arse and we can go into a new era clean. Hooray! :D

Carlo needs to learn to be original.:p That's exactly what mou did to the sun reports at his inter press conference. Told them they need to ask their questions in italian.:D

Zhirkov is a good player, just not sure if he was needed with you guys having a.cole.

No one in Italy expects someone to learn Italian, all Englishmen expect anyone who comes to England to learn English :p Though the realities are far from that ;)

As to Zhirkov, I think he is a good signing but - wait for it - it would depend on the left side of our team. Cole only started playing well last season and that was (imo) because he wanted a paycheck bump. Same with Malouda. Seeing as they are both such sterling examples of consistancy, I'm pretty happy we have someone who can replace them both when one or the other decides that being lazy is a fun thing to do.

Yeah - we need reinforcements on other areas (attack, right wing - maybe - though if Stoch is given half a chance, I reckon he could be a revelation there... plus we have the MIGHTY COLE:D) but Zhirkov could be a coup de grace for those two tw@ts. Don't get me wrong, I'm chuffed at how Malouda performed towards the tailend of last season. I haven't, however, forgotten that he was just one notch above completely useless for little under two years.
 
Well said about Malouda.

He was brilliant when he joined, then faded away. Contract renewal time. voila, he plays like he can, hopefully he keeps it up.
 
Point is... Zhirkov will give us some oomph in the final third. A little bit of creativity and some wow factor. Malouda doesn't have that. He is practically like Drogba, only slightly different. THen again, if Zhirkov is the catalyst for Malouda to continue playing the way he has... cool beans. Though I would gradually phase out Malouda in fvour of Yuri (if Yuri does well that is...)

Then again, Zhirkov could be a flop.
 
I see Mikel is being handed a long term deal, excellent.

He is young, and one of the best holding midfielders, awesome competition for Essien!
 
Lamps and Sturridge scored against Seattle. Deco played a holding midfield role (a la Pirlo), according to some sources, he did well. Then again, it was against Seattle, so I won't be holding my breath. Other than that... not much more to say... as soon as I see the youtube clips, I'll comment more ;)
 
I see a great future for Sturridge, strong and fast.

Deco in a holding role? I have seen hist tackles, he is awful, then again, maybe he has been working on that realising his pace and skills have gone away with age, and he is preparing himself to be a Decolele.
