TEAM NEWS: CHELSEA V QUEENS PARK RANGERS

Yury Zhirkov, Sam Hutchinson and Fabio Borini all make full debuts.

Zhirkov will play left-back in a defence that sees Paulo Ferreira return from injury on the right with 20-year-old Hutchinson alongside Branislav Ivanovic in the centre.

Joe Cole is captain for the night and will be at the front of an experienced midfield diamond while up front Borini partners Salomon Kalou.

New signing Nemanja Matic is on the bench, the 21-year-old midfielder having overcome injury that has delayed his introduction, and 17-year-old defender Jeffrey Bruma is also among the subs. There are three England internationals on the bench if needed.

QPR make two changes from their win against Cardiff at the weekend. In goal Tom Heaton replaces Radek Cerny and Alejandro Faurlin will play in midfield with Ben Watson not involved.

Chelsea will line up in a 4-1-2-1-2 formation as follows:

19 Paulo Ferreira
2 Branislav Ivanovic
41 Sam Hutchinson
18 Yury Zhirkov
12 John Mikel Obi
35 Juliano Belletti
15 Florent Malouda
10 Joe Cole (c)
45 Fabio Borini

Substitutes: 22 Ross Turnbull, 41 Jeffrey Bruma, 26 John Terry, 3 Ashley Cole, 24 Nemanja Matic, 5 Michael Essien, 8 Frank Lampard.

QPR are expected to line up in the following 4-4-2 formation:

Heaton; Borrowdale, Gorkss, Stewart, Leigertwood; Routledge, Rowlands (c), Faurlin, Buzsaky; Simpson, Vine.

Substitutes: Cerny, Ramage, Mahon, Pellicori, Taarabt, Agyemang, Ephram.

The referee is Mike Jones.
 
I like that Carlo used some younger players, but also put on some bigger names so that the fans could get their money's worth. Waiting to see what the player ratings were like - particularly for Hutchinson and Borini.
 
Well, that was bs performance wise.

Hope Ashley is not badly injured, and the red card to Cech was BS, the Wigan player was falling over before he even touched him!

you could ask the same question about United vs Burnley... I think SAF likes giving away points to newly promoted underdogs... remmeber United vs Hull?
 
Smokey is currently working. He was boozing, braaing and clubbing the whole weekend. Smokey did not see the match as he ignored all computers, TVs and electronic devices for the last three days. Smokey will not say anything about any of the games this weekend because he just had that good a time. He was informed of the result through a third party and at the time was too drunk to fully comprehend what had happened.

No way dude, if anything this might give them the kick up their asses that they need to do amazing things. My weekend was too good for something like that to kill my mood. Seriously, no TV or PC. It was amazing! I really don't mind that they lost, so long as they come back and spank Liverpool into going another 19 years without the Premier League.

By then Gerrard will be 50 odd and still no Premiership medal, Giggs will probably have 20 :cool:

It's good to see that you've regained your chirpiness now that United are on top again. Looking forward to a quiet time at the end of the season from you.

Since when has there been a difference in my mood...:erm:
Quiet time at the end of the season huh...well winning our 19th premiership with 5 games to go; I probably will be quiet from a hangover by that time;)
