What am I missing. I was under the impression Chelsea didn't renew Lampard contract. Surely anger should be directed at the club not the player.
 
I'm sure Chelsea may have given Lampard a one year deal to please the fans. At much reduced pay which Lamprey would never accept.

That Lampard plays for one of City's affiliate clubs. Him playing for City until January is a no-brainer.

Lampard and Cole were both offered contracts before they left.

I watched the first half. We lacked tempo and organisation, and Torres is a **** left winger- he continually left Luis exposed, didn't track his runner, and both goals were the result of him losing the ball and not attempting to win it back.

Wasn't able to watch the second half :(, but it seems that we improved.

Fabregas at number 10 is not going to work against opponents that press, that's for sure. He wants too much time on the ball, which will only happen in a deeper role.

Matic was awesome (as he always is), Costa was slightly isolated due to Fabregas dropping deeper to get on the ball, Luis held that left flank well (despite the two goals) and Salah, well, I'm not sure what he offered yesterday.

Van Ginkel needs to calm down. Too often would he hit his passes too wildly,and ruin what would have been some excellent long play. But, he is strong in the tackle, rather quick for his frame, and has an already decent passing range. He shouldn't play at the base of the pivot though- a 4-3-3 setup suits him more, as he can drive from deeper.

Anyway, once the Brazilians and Schuerrle are back, we should have a better set of options available to us. Not too disappointed by the game, glad to see the steps forward being made.

Slightly off topic, but when I was growing up, I played water polo and sternly supported Fradi, or Ferencvaros in its full name.

Oh how nice it was see the new stadium!

Next time I go back for a holiday I'll definitely visit!
 
Until he faces the rugby team of the EPL... I would say that's too early to call
