Good performance, would've loved more goals. Don't know why we conceded that one goal, just puts a damper on things.
When Torres came on he seem like he didn't care, lie when it was 2 on 1 and him and Malouda had space, instead of passing he dribbled a bit then lost the ball.
Anyway overall good performance, let's take it against Levurkusson!
 
Yeah, Torres looked really off. However, I think AVB was saving him for the ECL game against Leverkusen. One thing though - AVB didn't chase goals - if he did he would have brought Torres on when Studge and Mata were playing. He is trying to make the squad gel and if Torres doesn't like it he can GTFO of our club. However, once we do start getting better then I really think Torres will start scoring.

That Studge goal was simply awesome. Yeah, lucky as anything, but it was still a great piece of skill by him and with his weak right foot noggals.

I'm happy. :)

PS: Meireles was great - but I have agreed with Alan that a holding midfielder is not needed against the smaller teams and that is why Mikel wasn't playing - he simply wasn't needed and Meireles needs time to gel with the team.
 
Quite surprised AVB left Lukkaku out the CL group stage 25 man squad. Would've much preferred him instead of Kalou!

Overall nice performance, glad to see Mata score again. I felt that Chelsea had many opportunities.... just need to finish up!
Torres, at least this time it looked like he was trying and did set up 2 goals, but did have a few himself. I liked how the overall speed of the game was more than what is usual at Chelsea. Just need to get some goals!

One goal was unjustly called off-side. I'll be the first to call him a waste of money if he DOES flop. However, because he was bought for so much, I'm willing to give him some time.

Funny how Anelka kept trying to set up Torres... seems he thinks if he can set up torres he'll be an automatic first pick :D

Nah, he's got this season. He can't ride on his rep forever. I think he'll come good but there's always a chance he'll flop. Let's wait and see. The good thing is that the squad is looking good. A solid win last night despite no Lampard, Terry or Drogba starting which bodes well for the future.

Kalou was on the bench, but didn't start - which is also good.

Mikel was ON FIRE!!! His passing was amazing. Long may that continue. I think the first choice midfield this season will end up being Meireles Mikel Ramires, with Lampard coming on in the tougher matches and McEachran coming in when we have breathing space.
