BTW thug Bardsley has been banned for 4 games for his stamp on Mata. Sunderland chose not to appeal, so it shows Bardsley did do it!

Anyone with half a brain could see it on the replay that he DID DO IT. Sunderland chose not to appeal because they had zero chance of turning it over.

Amazing FA and their inconsistencies... Nani gets kicked by Carragh NO action taken and NO ban there after, Bardsley stamps on a guy and gets 4 matches...

Carragher got a yellow during the match which means the referee has dealt with it during the match and the FA will take no further action.

For the Mata stamp the referee did not take any action during the match, which means that the FA can take action after looking at video.

The rule seems stupid, but I think the idea is not to continually undermine referees decisions by looking at videos after the game. If a ref has dealt with a matter ingame, ie by issueing a card, then the FA see's the matter as dealt with.

We are in agreement. However, the rules are what they are. We didn't get any preferential treatment nor did you get shafted - it's just the rules.

Exclusive: Mata's the Juan for Torres as Villas-Boas seeks to placate striker

Juan Mata has been assigned a locker next to fellow Spaniard Fernando Torres at Chelsea's training ground to help the pair settle at the club.

It shows the extraordinary lengths manager Andre Villas-Boas is taking to help turn Torres' career at Chelsea around by putting his international teammate alongside him.
The striker responded by setting up Mata's goal against Bayer Leverkusen and Villas-Boas is convinced the adjustment at the Cobham training ground can work.

Torres has scored just once since signing from Liverpool for £50million in January and is struggling to adapt to life at Stamford Bridge.

He was critical of team-mates last weekend when he claimed Chelsea were too functional, too slow and did not play to his strengths.

Despite irritating his colleagues, none have spoken to Torres about his comments because foreign players always hide behind 'translation' whenever they are quizzed about comments made in their native country.

Instead they allowed Villas-Boas to conduct his own internal investigation and the issue has now been resolved.

Chelsea's manager is determined to find a solution for his striker and will continue to explore tactical options in the coming weeks.

Although Torres set up both goals during the Champions League victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday, he still looks short of his best.

Torres sat next to his former Liverpool team-mate Yossi Benayoun until the midfielder moved to Arsenal on the final day of the transfer window.

Mata will be alongside him in future, with Belgian new boy Romelu Lukaku assigned locker space next to the Spanish pairing.

Villas-Boas, who is obsessed with time-keeping and strategy, has a disciplined approach at the training ground and has made several changes to Carlo Ancelotti's relaxed regime.

Visitors, including friends and agents of players, can only enter if Chelsea's Portuguese boss gives his express permission.

He has also taken to issuing on-the-spot fines for breaches of club discipline, including sanctions for getting on to the team bus late.

I mean why would the team be pissed at Torres and not give him stick about what he said since he said that in ENGLISH!!! ****ing rubbish journalism, honestly.

Torres did he think going to a bigger Club with a bigger wage? meant a bigger goalmouth what a twerp a 5 year old could of rolled that ball into the net. Me thinks one of the misses of the season what a ****er.

Oh well... at least you're agreeing that Chelsea is a bigger club. I agree that we're a bigger club too.

On that miss... I doubt you could have gotten into such a position or rounded the keeper like that at all - so saying a 5 year could have rolled it into the net is a bit idiotic don't you think?
 
Still can't believe that miss! Yoh! Quite disappointing, and as Henry once said, strikers tend to focus on their misses and not the goals.
