Official Everton supporters thread

@satanboy Are you in the Silva should stay, or the #SilvaOut camp?

If it's the first, that was a bitter pill to swallow.

If it's the second, maybe it was the push Moshiri needed and you had to swallow that pill for the good of the club.

Have you chaps heard anything about Marco yet?

Liverpool's 5-2 win plunged Everton into the relegation places and pushed the 42-year-old Portuguese closer to the sack - having survived discussions involving the club's board of directors about his position following the recent home defeat by Norwich City.

If Everton's board do decide to sack Silva before Saturday's home game with Chelsea, former manager David Moyes is the leading contender as an interim solution, with former player Tim Cahill a candidate to be his assistant.

David Moyes written all over this job. Can't see them going for an adventurous choice.

Silva has been under pressure for a number of weeks and talkSPORT claim a decision has been made to sack the Portuguese boss. A conference call between Everton board members took place this morning and it was decided the club should head in a new direction.

Everton will sack Marco Silva today following last night’s 5-2 defeat to Liverpool. The Toffees slipped into the relegation zone having won just four of their 15 matches this season. Silva has been under pressure for a number of weeks and talkSPORT claim a decision has been made to sack the Portuguese boss.

A conference call between Everton board members took place this morning and it was decided the club should head in a new direction. Former manager David Moyes, who was in charge of the Merseyside club between 2002-13, is the favourite to replace Silva. Ex-attacker Tim Cahill is also rumoured to be returning as the Scot’s assistant.

I don't want the toffees to go down. They've spent lots of money, with nothing to show for it. The coach has to go

Pretty sure Moshiri made a deal with Moyes last night. All that's left are the financial terms Silva will leave on.

Moysie wasn't bad at Goodison. Martinez and Koeman pretty much traded on his defensive setup and that's what they need right now.

Getting rid of Koeman was a mistake, I feel. Silva was given a lot of rope, he just hanged himself with it

Everton sack Marco Silva and put Duncan Ferguson in temporary charge

Duncan Ferguson has been placed in temporary charge of Everton after Farhad Moshiri, the club’s majority shareholder, made Marco Silva his fourth managerial sacking in under four years. David Moyes is the leading candidate to succeed Silva with Tim Cahill under consideration to become the former Everton manager’s assistant. Other possible contenders include Vítor Pereira who was overlooked for the Everton job in 2013. The Portuguese is currently in charge of Shanghai SIPG.
