Assuming you have your auto-rotate enabled on the N7 in the notifications bar it should :)

Mine certainly does using ezPDF Reader.

Perhaps your has reader has a setting within the program to enable/disable it?

I am eternaly grateful! I am such a n00b :o I have been looking through settings and all over to find it and there it was ... locked! Anyhow, I am mightily relieved that it is sorted :)

Have anybody else noticed the lag with picture animations in Gallery? It is especially apparent when swiping through images from side to side, and when pressing the back button to view all the pictures in the folder.

There are only 6 pictures in that particular folder of mine. Maybe I should not describe it as lag - when pressing the back button to return to the folder view, the closing picture kind of snaps into position near the end of the animation. I'm referring to this "snap.

I also notice that there is no issue when viewing my Google+/Picasa pictures, but it is clearly visible in my Bluetooth folder, with about 6 (5-megapixels) pictures from my phone.

Edit: I figured out what cause this. When the orientation of the picture does not correspond with the orientation of the thumbnail image (used for the animation) it produces a glitchy animation/look. This must be a Jelly Bean bug. One more item to add to the list over here.

The same issue might be described here.

If anyone is still looking for a 7" Nexus, I found one for a really good price on BidorBuy.

:D

On a serious note, where can I get hold of the official stock distributed by Asus? I assume this will now be the cheapest. Is it available in any physical stores yet?

lol! Android 2.2, epic.

You can get from Esquire, probably the best price you are going to get. Remember they are in high demand so you won't see massive differences in pricing. And no, I don't think any retailers stock them, non of the big ones at least. You may find some smaller IT shops selling them, but more than likely they have gotten them from Esquire and are selling them + a few hundred rond.

My first impression is that the N7 truly is a great tablet. I was genuinely unprepared for how smooth and stable it feels. I have Jelly Bean on my Galaxy Nexus, but somehow it has never felt this good. I assume that this is because of the more powerful hardware on the N7, but in case, it feels wonderful. The N7 feels as smooth as an iPad, but while still having the power and flexibility of Android. It's a brilliant combination.

Does have anyone have any cool suggestions for things to do with it? Here are some apps and media I've added or used so far:

Reading: Pocket, Currents, Flipboard, Alidiko, and a few epubs.

Video: Youtube, MX Player and a some TV series episodes

Comics: Komik. It's very pretty, but unfortunately it only works in portrait mode.

Games: World of Goo, Great Little War Game, Samurai II: Vengeance.

Social networking: Boid (for Twitter) and Google+. Boid works okay, but does anyone have any suggestions for other Twitter clients that work well on the N7?

Misc: Google Drive, Sketchbook Express, Evernote, Dropbox.

Any other suggestions? As countless tech reviewers have pointed out, finding tablet-optimised apps on the Play Store is difficult, and finding apps that scale perfectly for 7" screens is even harder.

I got a Nexus 7 last week as well. Until know I've been using an iPad 2. I'm quite impressed with the Nexus 7. I pretty much just used the iPad for reading comics, and the Nexus 7 does a very good job of that. It's much lighter and easier to hold. I was delighted to find that ComicRack had an Android version, and it words very will in conjunction with the PC version.

Anyone here in SA got the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update ?

I am still waiting patiently, do not want to side load

@vulk, nice post. Always good to see what "the other guy" is using on his tablet :)

Have you got Tapatalk for social media? Also perhaps the MyBB apps for the forum?
