Official Google Nexus 7 Thread

Any performance improvements over 5.0? Still waiting on my side.
I got the update today, seems to be performing a bit better than 5.0 in the short time I tested it on my 32gb nexus 7 2012. Previously it was next to unusable on 5.0 but now it's at least passable.

Did you manage to find one? I have spare ones for 2012 Nexus 7. Brand new. R50, including postage.
Contact me on - email removed-. Regards Denise.
Hi Denise, thanks a million. The ribbon was delivered in the mail Friday. I can finally use my new, improved N7

I'm putting my nexus 7 2012 in the drawer, getting so frustrated when it takes 5 minutes to load a page on chrome or just to switch between apps. Currently 5.0.2, going to wait until there is a update which can revive my tablet...

That's sad news man, surely there must be a way to go back to KitKat when it performed better?

Sure I can flash a kitkat rom from the developers website but too much effort during my holidays. :) will do it if there is nothing new by the time I'm back at the University.

It's not really that hard. Download extract and run the bat file. Unless your talking about reinstalling all your apps then yeah University wifi is awesome.

I did fresh install of 5.0.2 from factory images. It allowed me to restore apps and settings on initialusation . Running sweet now

After my apps got reinstalled , I have 25Gb left on a 32Gb tablet. Apps taking up about 1.7Gb

So a 16Gb will have a shade over 9Gb
I have just over 18 gig available, so that's definitely not the problem. Report back in a few days and tell us how the performance is. Mine was also pretty good in the beginning.

What's happening with yours? Just sluggish? So I know what to look out for

Ja, really sluggish. Takes a few seconds to do simple tasks like open an app, pressing the home button, multi task button sometimes take half a minute to respond. Chrome hangs and then I get a message to close or wait.
Think the problem is the slow read and write speeds on the SD card. TRIM and all that stuff blah blah.
