Official Google Nexus 7 Thread

Been waiting for the new Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update for a week now and nothing came through

So, after googling around, I found this

========================

Thanks for this, worked a treat on my rooted N7.

Ive had some discussions with the rep from esquire and he said they open the packaging to replcae the usb adapter to a SA version. Im ok with this. But would prefer If they didnt open the box and just supply the adaptor seperately.

Mine was opened and sealed, but the adapter was not replaced. He then asked for my details so he can have it sent to me. This was yesterday evening. It just arrived now. In addition to the SA USB plug I also recieved an international plug convertor to use the original usb plug the box came with.

So, I've been trying to make a list of apps that are "optimised" for 7" tablets, i.e. their layout either looks noticeably different on a 7" tablet compared to on a phone, or they can't be installed on a phone at all. So far, it's a surprisingly small list:

Calendar
Chrome
Currents
Drive
Evernote
File Manager HD
Gmail
Google+
HD Widgets
IMDB
IM+
Komik
Maps
Pinterest
Plume
Pocket
Stock People app
Sketchbook Express
Tabstagram
TegraZone
Timer
TweetCaster
Unified Remote

I also made note of some apps which are not "optimised" in this sense, but which still work pretty well on a 7" screen. Some of these could use benefit from a proper tablet layout, however:

Aldiko
Boid
Earth
Flipboard
Kindle
LoboWiki
Markers
MX Player

I realise these are somewhat subjective categories.

How many of you redeemed the $25 credit?
Were you able to use it?

I get this error: "Your payment could not be processed at this time. you may receive an email asking you to verify your account."
The only emails I get is one telling me I purchased an app, and then shortly after an email saying that app has been refunded.
No email asking to verify my account.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

edit: The credit shows up in the payment options, im just unable to use.

More trouble than it was worth IMO.

I got over my $25 long ago. Waste of energy. They can keep it. They obviously need it more than me. :p

I redeemed mine - it works fine.

Maybe it is because you only redeemed it after the offer ended on 30 September already.

I've had mine for a few days now - still exploring the OS but I like it so far.

Does anyone know of a good guide for rooting and installing CM10? I'm totally new to Android, and most of what I find assumes a fair bit of knowledge of the process.
