Official HTC One thread

sigh ... i'd be really really happy if FNB got the ONE ... this is my last month with MTN
seeing as they aren't even bothering with the ONE.

Same here June is my last month..

And same seeing that their not bothering getting the One ill be moving my service to other SP's

MTN just blows - I asked a few MTN "knowledgeable employees" regarding the HTC One - only to be offered the Xperia-Z or S4.

I think the stock situation regarding the One also has quite an impact on the various Service Providers stocking and promoting it. Then again these capitalists are simply looking to market the phones they view as to being the "big sellers" and show very little interest for that corner of the market where we are in - the loyal HTC customers.

Thinking about moving over to another SP but that is easier said than done because I have enjoyed excellent coverage by normal standards whereas the others did not come close.

Things not looking good for HTC, glad i decided on the S4:eek:

And then there's Peter Chou, HTC's co-founder and longtime CEO.

Several sources pointed to Chou — who has promised to step down if the flagship One isn't a retail success — as a roadblock, making snap decisions in lieu of a long-term strategy. HTC staff are said to have alerted Chou months ahead of the One's release of possible supply and manufacturing delays, but were told to push ahead anyway. Indeed, the One was saddled with inventory problems after launch, particularly in black, which features an anodized finish that the white and silver model does not.

What's next for HTC? More upheaval among the ranks, perhaps — and the changes could go all the way to the top if the One isn't a smash hit (provided Chou stays true to his word). In the meantime, the company stands at the center of a triple threat: a Microsoft focused on Nokia, a Facebook focused on distributing Home as widely as possible, and a Samsung focused on dominating the entire Android market.

i've got a good feeling once the HTC One gets settled in nicely (without any stock problems) and all the SP's offer it
it's going to change their game a lot! This is a remarkable device which i have never seen before!

LOADS of reviewers just love this thing..so let's hope the start sending this phone in the masses to get things looking up for them..

Samsung isnt bad ..them HUGE let down for me of this device is the plastic toy feel..

When i spend that amount of money i expect a good phone..internal and external.. HINT HTC One

Can it be mounted as a USB storage device? Not via MTP, as an actual storage device, like a flash drive?

AutoPage in the Westville Mall still don't have stock, and Autopage in the Pavilion want you to come in and physically request it. I don't think that they have stock as well. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

just got a call from megacellexpress saying that they saw my communication on myBB and wanted to reassure me that stock is arriving tomorrow and will be shipped ASAP! Not only are they not shady they are active in this forum :D

I see they are in Middleburg nogal, wonder where they get their stock from.

How bout some info HTCSA instead of keeping us guessing , Are you getting stock ? will it be enough ? will MTN get any ? Price point ?
I been on a month to month for 3 months now waiting for this thing

HTC are having huge internal corporate issues and not being able to meet demand for the One which has become an instant hit, puts us in a bad spot in terms of availability locally.

Would be good to receive some insight from HTC SA as they surely have a better idea regarding the stock situation for SA specifically. Looking to upgrade end July/August to the One - currently on MTN and would like to stick with them if possible.

Consider yourself lucky should you have the One on contract from one of our SP's.
