Official HTC One thread

I had one already confirmed last week with Vodacom but couldn't get it cos Nashua Mobile need a calendar month to port. I've been due for an upgrade since last August. Nashua have no clue when they are getting this phone

You should be able to get it with a new number and then just port when the other one is ready for porting?

So are you saying that when you first check for any updates, there is already one available for download and installation?

Depending on the rom version on your phone. Mine came with version 1.28.401.7 (ICS 4.1.2) out of the box and after first boot and checking there was an update to 1.29.401.12 (still 4.1.2 though) which improves the camera and resolves issue with sensitivity with capacitive buttons.
 
Just to confirm, the SA version of the phone is LTE-enabled, right?

yeah quite annoyed. I've been holding out. really thinking of just going for the S4 now. even if they do have pricing, do you think they'll have stock within 2 weeks of releasing it?

i seriously doubt they will have anything ... they really cant get their S*&T together!!!
 
Nashua Mobile still has no idea about this fone. I spoke to about 5 consultants and they're all trying to sell me the ONE X. FML
 
any stores in cape town have stock? Phoned vodacom sales, they say end of the month. Nivo and bfore are out of stock!
 
Gents just put your name down at 3 or 4 stores in your area. The phone will come. No point looking for stock Nd becoming irritated as the chance of finding it are extremely miniscule.

I was very lucky. Down in Durban for work so I called the vodashop in gateway and asked them to put me on the list. 4 days later, I received a call and was the first to get it from them.

One thing is for sure, the phone is definitely worth the frustration.
 
Anyone know whether MTN is planning on making the One available on their network?

I have been in contact with some of the MTN Direct employees which I have dealt with in the past - no confirmation as yet with no stock of the phone indicated on their warehousing system.

Hoping this will change - figure the stock situation in the SA market is very limited at this stage.

Only due for upgrade in August this year so it allows for a few more months at least :D
