Official HTC One thread

Mine was back ordered as part of my upgrade on Thursday last week. Spoke to them this morning and they confirmed they should have stock tomorrow and that I should get it delivered before the end of the week.
Any idea if u have an option on a colour or is it just the silver? Im hoping they get the black aswell.

I didn't ask and they didn't mention anything about a choice of colour. I'm sure it will be the silver though initially as the black seems to be rather scarce and if they do get the black it's likely to only be later on as seems to have been the trend world-wide from what I've seen.

I received an email from the vodacom shop dealing with our company accounts that the HTC One is ready to be shipped to the various stores tomorrow the 8th of May. They could not promise me to that it will arrive this week, but there is a chance that they will get it on Friday. I really hope so cause I will go overseas on Sat for 2 weeks and would need a 2nd phone to get a local SIM there. At least I should be able to get a cover there. It usually take quite a while till they have those things here in SA.

Are the vodacom units branded? E.g. meerkats and grandpas on the startup splashes?

do they still network lock phones? my DHD is starting to show its age and im itching to get a one,
but it needs to be abit flex!

Technically, it's illegal to network lock phones, or tablets... But some networks on certain devices can install they own network settings that only their network uses, requiring the user to change those settings manually... You won't void any warranty that way, you just changing the APN...

I have seen some interesting files sent by MTN, causing phones to only have a certain level of internet connectivity. Luckily, on a smartphone they are easy to pick up and remove.

I know... but I was hoping for one closer to home...

Would you be able to say which screen is better? Just curious...

If you like LED displays, then the Galaxy S4 is for you.

If you prefer plasma displays, then the HTC One is for you.

:D

You have to admit that the S4 screen is very impressive. Hell, even a die hard Apple fan at work gave it a compliment.

Would be interested to see the HTC One.
