Official HTC One thread

Htc and Vodacom said end of this month. If you haven't, put your name down at 2 or 3 shops. Don't expect to walk in a pick one up when they become available.

Was really wanting it to come around sooner, but I guess that is something positive. Thanks DJ.

On a side note, I have a few paid for apps for my current Android device (Tasker, couple games, unified remote) Once I do move over to a new device, do I get to keep those apps for the new device?

The apps will be associated with your Google account, so yes.

Hmm looks like theres going to be a new version of the HTC one with a bigger screen :/

Vodascum will prob sell it for 1000 rand per month :)....:(

HTC is set to launch a bigger HTC One soon, according to people familiar with the matter talking to Pocket-lint.

The new model will feature the same spec underneath the hood as the current HTC One, but will feature a bigger screen in line with what Samsung offers with the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Although our source is currently unable to confirm the exact screen size, they have confirmed that it will be above 5-inches but below 6-inches. The current HTC One features a 4.7-inch screen.

The news comes following rumours that HTC is also working on a mini version of the HTC One, codenamed the M4. According to those rumours, also confirmed by our source, the HTC One mini will come with a 4.3-inch screen.

HTC has said that it has sold 5m HTC One smartphones suggesting that the phone has been popular with critics and consumers alike. The HTC One is currently Pocket-lint's number one smartphone in the world today.

Phoned them again this morning, and they said it is on the way and should be with me between 14h00 and 15h00 today. I will update when I get it.

Is this CellC we are talking about?

So if they have stock today then we could order in this week maybe?
 
Went to Autopage this weekend and they have it in their brochure on MTN(though no stock was available) for R429 on Anytime200, which is a bit steep IMO. Hoping MTN gets the phone soon. They said end of May.

i've been phoning Cell C and MTN a lot last week ..after checking every website and twitter account of both it seems both will be stocking this model in June..

June is my upgrade date..but as we all know these devices come with a hefty price in the start! after a month it drops easily with R30 pm ..So ill maybe wait till July /August

It was end of May not so long ago :(.Hope they offer it on plans similar to the S4, though I think it should be less seeing at how you can never find accessories for HTCs and the after service isn't as solid.
 
sigh ... i keep coming back hoping that someone will say MTN has confirmed and the will be getting
stock in a weeks time and its going to cost R300 with some nice data added ... but MTN sux!

Well I have got a contact at MTN, and his words to me were "We will be stocking this device, but not sure yet on when."

Waiting word back from him as he said he will try ask the right questions.
