Official HTC One thread

Can only echo the prevailing sentiment here. I finally got 'round to exchanging my M7 at Regenersis because of the purple camera issue. So now I have a brand new phone a few months before my upgrade is due, and I can't see any reason to want to upgrade. I think my wife and I should use the opportunity to scale back one of our contracts, with an M7 doing another 2 year stint. This phone is phenomenal.

I also have the purple camera issue with my M7, what steps do I need to follow to get a replacement?

I did very little beyond phoning Regenersis, mentioning the issue, and asking nicely whether we could arrange an in-and-out swap. I was lucky enough to have had a course to attend in Midrand, so I popped past in my lunch break and swapped the phone. No mess, no fuss. I made sure beforehand that I have a 100% stock M7 to give them.

You being in Cape Town might complicate matters a bit though, but it is a recognised issue on the M7. And, with the phone being a sealed unit, it's an almost no questions asked swap.

Did you get a brand new in-the-box phone?
Did they check that the phone is 100% stock (s-off, rooting etc not the obvious custom rom?)
Who did you talk to?

Yes, new, but in a plain brown box barely bigger than the phone without any accessories. Unfortunately their workshop is out of public view, so I don't know how thoroughly they checked, but I returned my phone to absolutely 100% stock. If memory serves the chap I spoke to was Ashley.

There's an email address of a Louise on their website. I'll give that a shot before I call them.

Wow, Just got a response to my email, less than 30 minutes later, asking me when I'd like to come in and swap the device :wtf::D

Is your device in warranty. Have the camera issue but my phone is out of the 12 month warranty period... Also have root + custom rom

There was no question of warranty when I sent the email. I got mine in September 2013 and I told them that.
 
Just got my M7 swopped out. Pink camera issue. Took 24 hours.

Had custom running but just ran the stock firmware + recovery available from htc1guru beforehand

Still need to do this but don't have time to go drop off the phone :(
 
I'd love to know how many M7s they've swapped out. Just from this thread 10 or so?

Is it possible to send this phone in to get a brand new battery? My battery is still perfect because I swapped mine out due to the purple haze issue but if I choose to not upgrade, I'd like to keep this phone and just get a new battery
 
I noticed after getting the phone swapped that the speakers on the new phone are much much louder
