Quite right. You have to be able to beat everyone.

So far we've lost to NZ in the warm up and India and Pakistan in the pool stages.

So other than Sri Lanka in the warm ups we haven't beaten any team of significance. It's a bit of a worry.

Anyway, finding it very difficult to remain optimistic.

Because NRR might determine who we play in the next round. Think QF vs Aus or Bangladesh.

Pakistan can beat anyone on their day, so can Windies, etc. You need a bit of luck to win the WC or you need to be completely dominant. Having a bad day in a QF against Bang probably won't knock you out. Against Aus you will be buried. The tough thing with ODI's is to put a number of wins in a row because of the lottery aspect of it.

I say Faf open with Amla, drop QdK, and bring in RR lower in the order, say 4/5.

At least with Rilee after thes low returns we'd expect a ton next game.

With QdK I really hold no hope at this stage.

I believe RR doesn't deserve to be in the XI. That middle order spot should've gone to QdK long time ago. Having said that selectors let him down from the beginning, and guys here believed that since QdK eventually did well as an opener, it was right to keep him there.

No we didn't choke. Amla fell early. Against decent opposition it will happen to us again if he falls early. Look at how WI tried to defend 182 against India. They'd have done the same to us if Amla had fallen early in that game too. Instead he got 65 and fell in the 30th over 146-3.

I didnt know it was Amla playing the rest in this CWC.

They lost because there were two ducks in top 6, two others of top 7 got under 10 aqnd only AB got runs.

To win , a significant proportion of team has to regularly score, not just Amla...you are getting very boring now with your stupidity.

The 1st person that can explain the D/L method so that we can understand it, will by default win the next 5 Nobel prizes.

Its just mathematics. This is not a maths class.

They adjusted the overs when there were 39 bowled , not at start of innings, thus Pak's D-L 'total' for 10 wickets is adjusted upwards.
It depends on number of factors including the wickets down at 39 overs, i.e. what were their resources at time of adjustment.

This whole thing about rather playing X in Sydney or Y in Perth is irrelevant.

If you want to win the CWC you have to prove your mettle in the KO stages and the top teams in the world.

You can say whatever you want but if Amla falls cheaply, we really have no hope. Denying it doesn't help because this theory of mine has been&will be proven several times in this cwc.
