Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

I love how people report poop intel so confidently...all you guys with the reserve day restart nonsense been hanging out with ZCF?

There is a reserve day from the quarter-final onwards though
ajay: "if there is no more play available today and if it goes to reserve day, will it continue from where its ended today or fresh start..??" ---- Play will resume from this point on
ananth: "Why god why? As a miracle this SA performing well and u r jinxing them. What next,SA need 21 runs in 1 ball. Oh.. no pls" --- If there is no play possible today or on the reserve day, the team that finished higher - South Africa - in the group stages go through. But it seemed to be a passing shower
Raja: "@Al SA will go through not because of their RR but because they were placed higher in the group compared to SL." Thanks, mate

I think the rain is a non-event, really.

Quinton has the perfect opportunity to get some confidence under his belt without too much pressure. Ideal circumstances for a massive confidence boost for the team. We're hitting our bowling stride at the right time.

# There shall be one reserve day allocated to the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final on which an incomplete match shall be continued from the
scheduled day.
# Every effort will be made to complete the match on the scheduled day with any necessary reduction in overs taking place and only if the minimum number of overs necessary to constitute a match cannot be bowled on the scheduled day will the match be completed on the reserve day.
# If the match has started on the scheduled day and overs are subsequently reduced following an interruption, but no further play is possible, the match will resume on the reserve day at the point where the last ball was played.

Read it, FFS.

Ouch, no need for that, thanks

Dont think they thought that through for all scenarios, let's say first team goes off for rain at 25 over, second team comes out much later on wet field, minimum 10 overs so they get a 10 over D/L target, go off after 1 over, come back in sunshine the next day and slog 10 overs...that is just making a mockery of 6 weeks of playing round robin

I so hope for this, we'll need good starts in the next two games for sure.

Well that was based on incorrect info, so happy to be corrected which is not what ZCF does.

Why are you supporting a troll who does nothing else, look at today again.

Surely we aren't going to fail to chase this total ? Anyone else nervous none the less ?

Nah. You're too negative (understandable given our World Cup history). We've honestly played very well so far - this wasn't a pitch dictating events performance. We've got this one. :)

Did Malinga hit that with a pitching wedge? Pretty sure I saw some backspin there.

Morkel and his no balls! Not a major issue today (given the score) but it could come back to haunt if it happens against say Australia or India. Come on man!
