Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

I hope we rattle off this score quickly if for no other reason than to shut ZCF up.

If you don't like what he's got to say simply put him on your ignore list. Warranted it wont help when he's being quoted but most of the time you will be spared.

That was a clear no-ball. No part of his foot was ever behind the line since the first impact of the heel with the ground. Ridiculous. Benefit of the doubt should go to the batsman even if it's 50/50, and that was at least 70/30 in favor of the batsman.

Agree. As per that outside the line lbw earlier - benefit should go to the batsman.

Need to be consistent.

:p. You wish.

You know nothing about the game. Spew garbage in this thread, and never admit when you're wrong.

Pathetic. I pity you for your foolishness. Perhaps one day you may recover from whatever illness you suffer from.

He argues with stats in a sport where stats are everything. Should tell you about his lack of mental acumen.

The benefit of the doubt should go to the batsmen:

5. Fair delivery - the feet

For a delivery to be fair in respect of the feet, in the delivery stride,

(a) the bowler’s back foot must land within and not touching the return crease appertaining to his stated mode of delivery.

(b) the bowler’s front foot must land with some part of the foot, whether grounded or raised

(i) on the same side of the imaginary line joining the two middle stumps as the return crease described in (a) above and (ii) behind the popping crease.

If the bowler’s end umpire is not satisfied that all of these three conditions have been met, he shall call and signal No ball.

The last part is crucial. The umpire needs to be satisfied that the condition is met. With any doubt, there is no way that he could have been satisfied.

The problem is that I don't stay logged in most of the time.

Agreed. Should've been a no-ball, not "umpires call".
