I don't think SA could have made 300 given the quality of India's bowling performance. The only thing that could have gotten us over the line today was if we were chasing a lower target from the outset so that going at 4 an over for 25 overs didn't cause panic.

If a top side like ours gets caught up in panic when the chips are down then they are chokers. No, they just sucked today.
 
We were outplayed. It happens. Especially in cricket.

But I disagree with those who rush to label the team as chokers. The players have often showed they have the character and the the resolve needed to bounce back.

It's early days yet in the tournament. And lots of surprises still in store, I suspect. India might well lose to WI or Zim. It can happen.

Sure it's disappointing. But let's not have the disappointment run away with us - that's a real losing attitude from fans.

I'm staying positive.
 
Dropped down to 5th on the log, can afford no mistakes, especially against Pak, WI and Ire.
 
I got piloried for saying South Africa are underdogs and below India's class in ODIs, plus my Superbru pick wasn't one of my funny ones but a genuine one. To think I had India by 105 runs then revised it downwards showed how little faith I had in our attack. I wonder when we'll suddenly see the real Steyn&Morkel. Against IRE&AFG? Anyways Tsotsobe is on SABC commentary in case Hudson,Domingo&Donald come to their senses and Philandr/Farhaan continue to struggle fitnesswise. Proteas wete utterly embarrasing today!!!

Nope. The Australian groundsmen flew in a different pitch during the shortened break because we couldn't get our overs in despite 17 of them being spin.

Fact no side has chased over 300 at that ground. I would think Shane Warne knows the pitch pretty well having played his whole career there and he kept saying it would be harder to chase...;)

Yes we didn't play well but anyone that thinks india didn't have the best of conditions have no clue...

NO EXCUSE FOR 177 ALL OUT AGAINST THIS KIND OF INDIAN ATTACK!
 
We were just outplayed by a better team today. It is not the end of the world.but we have some problems to sort out.
 
And the Indian spinners were brilliant.

As an aside. It'll be interesting to see how the Indians react with their backs to the wall. Remember the last game in Durban in their last tour...
