Fact no side has chased over 300 at that ground. I would think Shane Warne knows the pitch pretty well having played his whole career there and he kept saying it would be harder to chase...
Yes we didn't play well but anyone that thinks india didn't have the best of conditions have no clue...
The difference between the pitch under lights and the pitch in the sun was probably 20-30 runs. The balance was us being awful.

Don't knock their attack. They may not be big names like ours but they all bowled incredibly well and manage to consistently perform well. Our big names consistently underperform and just don't seem to pitch up for big games. They are mentally weak.
Kallis should have never retired before the World Cup. South Africa would have been so much better.
Exactly. India are pros in the shorter format of the game. They know how to make the most out of their bowlers.

Mind boggling that an economical Duminy wasn't allowed to complete 10 overs while Parnel was bleeding runs.
stats say that 275+ at night on this ground is virtually impossible so despite the terrible batting the game was lost with the bowling. The pressure was too much.
When I saw Parnel blowing chewing gum bubbles I realised he's only in the team to fill a number.
Surely there are other bowlers who can wield a willow if it need be. Someone mentioned Albie. Behardiens can also bowl a bit and Im pretty sure he's not going to go for 80 in 9 overs.

If these guys were good enough for u19, I truly hope that they are managed well at seniors level to fulfill on that early promise.

Agree, I am seriously glad that they didn't take him with to this bunfight. He will be one of our stars for the next one.
Just goes to show our conservative nature when it comes to talent. Kohli was into the team the same year as when he won the U19 Cup and he has over 150 caps already. Rabada should be part of this side after the WC IMO, he is clearly a world class talent

India bowled well upfront. Been a long time since I've seen Indian fast/seam like today. I haven't had confidence in our bowlers for a while now. Line and length not disciplined. Fine for mid level opposition but obviously not good for top level.
Parnell was picked right after the under 19 world cup that SA lost vs kohli's india. How has that worked out for us...

I'd rate Rabada as a better talent than Parnell and should be given a run

The selectors have a tough job. Pick Berhadien and get criticism if he doesn't perform. Replace him with Parnell, and the same. If Kallis stayed and didn't perform, people would be saying why didn't he retire and give someone else a chance.
Win or lose (in whatever fashion), they're still our team and deserve our support. Players are people too at the end of the day, and consistent negativity does affect how they play.
Respect them, support them, give them a break. They deserve that much.
