Official ICC 2015 CWC thread

I can't stand this Paki team  So full of themselves. The Aussies always back up their **** talk. That's what I like the most about them. Hell, I rooted for them to win the previous 4 WCs :D I was so happy when they ran Saffers out in that SF back in 1999. Now I'm a changed man. Yep, it would be hilarious as fk if they choke :D

No idea, dude. I just got into cricket when I was a kid in '99. I used to play cricket with my friends everyday. I was a huge fan of Glenn McGrath. He's truly a legend. The great Oz side fell apart when he retired in 2008  That was when I switched to Proteas.

Yes. A long time Oz fan. Been supporting them since '95. I miss watching the great Oz side that brutally dominated the game from '95 to '08  I can see that this new side has the potential to dominate the game again. The coach's been fantastic as fk.

What is your nationality, if I may ask?

You support them above SA? Just curious?

I supported them above SA during the time of Steve Waugh and Adam Gilchrist. Those were fantastic players, whereas Cronje and Pollock just seemed like bitter tosses.

Never got the whole "Let's see who the best is so I can support them". Do you guys swap whenever something better comes along?

Replying from the wrong account? So 3WA = DarkSpectre?

Good bloody grief? :wtf: Who'da thunk that! And why the heck have 2 accounts?

Maybe I am a postwhore and just love my postcount, or I speak with one voice.

/goes to check if he argues with himself.

I admire the way AUS used to play. I always wished SA could play so aggressive. They made their fans so proud

Something which I find interesting!

We didn't hit a single six against SL. Warranted there was never the need to take that sort of risk and Amla perished trying but I wonder if that was a conscious effort?

Against Pakistan a number of our batsman perished going for the big hits, again in a game where it wasn't at all necessary!

Perhaps what we've seen this world cup is too much of an emphasis on playing the big shots! Some of these grounds are huge and you not always going to clear the boundaries. I would like to see more batsman keeping it along the carpet, rather than going for the maximum all the time! Much safer and more likely to reap dividends in the long run.

Depends on the player and the stage of the match, IMO. Telling David Miller to stop lofting the ball down the ground is silly....it's a critical part of his game and the stage at which he usually bats (overs 40-50). Telling De Kock to keep it on the carpet for the first 5-10 overs is more sensible but then again if he gets a short, wide one he better klap the snot out of it. Amla didn't execute the shot as well as he could have...that's not a reason to put the shot away. He's hit plenty over square cover and third man in his career.

Just choose the right shot for the ball and execute the stroke cleanly.

Please get out, Watto :( It's so painful to watch you batting like a schoolboy.

Best spell of fast bowling of CWC by Wahab, but yes Watson is the most protected species of Aussie cricket....

My nephew played U17 Aussie team with him and at that stage they earmarked Watson as the next best allrounder, could bowl very fast and bat well....as my nephew says "how can they still be waiting for him to 'come good' and pick him on 'potential' at the age of 34"?

Lots of politics in this Aussie team...they are clones of each other, if you dont fit that mould ...ask Katich, Cowan etc

Busted!!!? Well caught Mikey! I vote for it as the catch of the WC

Darkspectre = Ekstasis confirmed

Jeez guys. Did it occur to any of you that there may be more than one South African who used to support Australia, and maybe just decided to chip in to the conversation. I thought McT's question would be open to anyone who supported Australia instead of SA.
