I just wonder who we replace him with. But yes, at times today I was really questioning our tactics with the ball.
Anyone! just not him.
I just cannot get that "deer in the headlights image" of him out of my head

Nah there's a lot of positives to take out of it.We've made massive strides in this world cup, and achieved more than any other Proteas outfit before us. We finally developed that fighting instinct and hatred of losing. If AB and co. are still around for the next cup, it's going to be ours.
Oh, and get rid of the dead weight like Behaardien...
Yeah.
I'm just feeling sorry for the players. AB has carried us for a while now, and then he makes a booboo today, and you can rest assured the media and the public will grill him for it.
Which boo boo? The runout?
Was a bad throw from Rilee (both times) - the two big letdowns were Steyn and Philander, with Duminy a close third.
The fact that we had AB bowling a couple of overs from the death overs really speaks volumes about how poor the bowlers (aside from Tahir and, to some extent, Morkel) were today
You mean Duminy? Going for 8 an over and costing us a vital catch. Not to mention he's injured every bloody 2 months.
Yeah I agree.
But you know how it goes. People will ask why he didn't take his time as the batsman was 5 metres out of his crease - like they've been there before, and call him a choker and ****.
Yeah, they have no idea of how fast everything happens and just how overwhelming all that noise is...
/sits quietly and contemplates life...4 more years...
I'm calling for this thread to be ended, closed, locked and deleted.
And also to be deleted from memory.
Hard lines chaps, a valiant effort from the Proteas today.
You lads might not believe me, but today for the first time I was really and truly gutted for Sir AB De Villiers.
He is and will always be a legend to the game of cricket, his on and off the field character was outstanding today, hats of too you Sir AB.
#ABFIRE.
He made multiple wrong choices ...
... you know what ... scratch that ... he made few wrong choices.
He just never had the bowlers to back up his game plan.
Philander ... WTF
Morkel ... Short deliveries ... WTF
Steyn ... he was great (1 year ago), isn't anymore and was injured at a critical time in the game.
Duminy ... can bamboozle the best at the best of time but not the best at the worst (for us) of times.
Tahir ... the same.
AB ... shouldn't have bowled.
Where was Abbott? (although ... I didn't want to ask this question initially because it seems too much like 20/20 hindsight vision).
By the way, a huge thanks to the mod who took that troll in hand - it at least made today's pain somewhat bearable - if he'd been allowed to post I shudder to think what this thread would have descended into
